Clear blue digital testing

Hi there, me and my partner have been trying to conceive our second for around 6 months now. Around 2-3 months ago I got some faint positives on clear blue as well as pink dye tests, my period was 11 days late and I was very excited unfortunately at around 15 days late what I thought was my period had arrived. After some investigation we realised it was a chemical pregnancy. This month I am late again, currently 9 days late. I have no pms symptoms but instead similar symptoms to what I experienced in early pregnancy with our daughter. I took a clear blue digital test with weeks indicator this morning, and after the three minutes it said not pregnant. Curiosity got the better of me so I broke it open, (I have never seen the inside of a digital before), I was shocked to see a positive result on the low sensitivity strip. I know they are designed to be ready by the optical detector thing inside but I also know a lot of people who have had the same results as me who have ended up being pregnant but their urine was too diluted or they tested too early when they used the digital. I just wondered if anyone could help me make sense of it? My partner suggested testing again in a few days to a weeks time just in case I tested too early.

I should also add that when I took the test it technically wasn’t my first wee of the day as I had woken up in the night (around 4 hours before I woke up properly) so that may attribute to the results of my test

At 9 days late you'd expect a very strong result regardless of if it was FMU or not. Do you track ovulation? That's really the only way to tell if your period is actually late or if you just ovulated late. At 9 days past a period lots of people will already be getting 2-3 weeks on a weeks test.
With the clear blue digital tests they always have 2 lines on them even if fully negative so I would read too much in to that.
Maybe speak to your GP and ask for a blood test. That way you'll know for definite. But I'd start tracking ovulation in the future if you don't already so you'll know if you're late or not.
The other option is you had another chemical but your HCG has already dropped and your period will start soon.

The inside of digital tests always have 2 lines that’s why it’s a digital result and not a strip so it’s a negative test sorry to say
