Hi, im currently on my 2nd implant which i got fitted in November last year.
Ive been getting weird symptoms such as spotting, very extreme tiredness, moodiness, cramping etc.
Ive just decided to take a test on a whim & is it low-key positive? Can anyone else see the very faint line?
Please help!!!

That test is flooded, and it's not a good picture, so it's hard to tell. Have you got a better photo?

Can you take a close up photo of the middle section where it’s more in focus?

Thecatatnight · 18/08/2024 11:17

Yes it’s hard to tell from that photo as when you zoom in the whole area looks quite blurry.

The test looks positive. Have you another you can take? It does look flooded x

Do another test tomorrow.

Are you 100 percent sure you’re implant is in? Was it checked after insertion?

This might be pretty outing but 8 years ago my GP tried to replace my Nexplanon implant but after insertion she didn’t check it was in or check the needle afterwards. I got pregnant about a year later at which scans and a blood test from the manufacturer determined that the implant had never been inserted. The lump I thought I could feel in my arm was just scar tissue from the old implant. It became apparent during my legal case is possible for the implant to stay in the needle (or fall out of the needle before insertion, if the Dr doesn’t hold the device completely horizontal before insertion). It is also possible for the implant itself to be faulty (which is why the manufacturer paid for me to get a really expensive blood test to check if the hormones had ever been in my system). It worked out well for me in the end though, I have a wonderful six year old and settled against my GP for £47000 plus legal costs 🤷‍♀️

Other things that can happen on the implant is you can get an ectopic pregnancy or medications (such as St John’s Wort) can interfere with the efficacy of the device.

Edited

Oh really? I remember when the nurse inserted it she got me to check I could feel it, just had a feel now and it does almost feel like a rod where I can feel the ends of it too?
I'm probably over thinking things, I've just been having some weird symptoms lately 😂

It's still flooded really. I think you're dipping it for too long.

Did you get any other tests?

Thecatatnight · 18/08/2024 16:32

That looks negative to me.
