Hello I had this with my first pregnancy. His ventricle was 10.2mm on one side and normal the other side. We were referred to a fetal medicine specialist who we saw a few times to discuss options/possible causes and to have a better quality of scan. We were signed off at about 27 weeks pregnant as had no change in size in the ventricles. He doesn't seem affected by it at all :)

Have they referred you for further scans? Do you know babies sex as well? Boys can naturally have bigger ventricles so sometimes it can be closer to normal for them :)

Yes I am waiting for a scan they are going to ring today. Yes it is a boy and the midwife did say it tends to happen more with boys. Just makes you worry doesn't it

Absolutely does! I hope it's a good outcome for you and they've booked your scan in now ❤️

I had this identified at a 32 week growth scan (measures 12.5mm on one side). I was referred to fetal medicine and had two scans with them where everything measured within normal limits and everything is considered normal now. Their best guess for why it was flagged in the first place was the quality of scanning equipment measuring something so small, and the position of the baby during the scan.
From my understanding of what they said to me, if the issue is isolated (i.e. there are no other issues or anomalies identified during the scan) then the condition is very manageable / unnoticeable in the vast majority of cases.
I hope your future scans go well...I remember it being a really worrying time until I got answers!
