Positive test, GP needs to confirm?

Went to see GP today, showed them my positive pregnancy tests; there were two. They agreed I was pregnant. However, they have said I need to do a urine sample and bring it in a week. I have PCOS.
Is this normal for a doctor to ask for you to bring a sample in? No referral or anything… I’m so confused and feel like I can’t be excited. Please help me. Photo of test attached x

I didn’t see my gp either time I just self referred to midwife . How many weeks are you that test looks very faint.

No GPs don't deal with pregnancy. Ring you surgery and ask for the midwives contact details.

I’ve no idea as I don’t have regular periods. She didn’t mention anything about self referral either. Is it a positive? Could it be false?

It's extremely faint. I wonder if the GP suspects you're so early pregnant that it might come to nothing (ie chemical pregnancy). Bit unnecessary for you to take a sample in though, you could just as easily test yourself in a week and if it's darkened, consider yourself pregnant. Google your local hospital name and maternity referral, ours just has an online form for fill in.

There is really no need to go to your GP. Just do another test in a few days and if it's stronger, you're pregnant, if it's not, you're not. Then contact your community midwife team.
