PPROM - leaking stopped but will I still deliver early?

My membranes ruptured and I had a water leak and bleeding at 28+2. Thankfully everything seems to have calmed down and there's no signs of labour, infection or continued leaking now at 29+1. I'm waiting on a repeat scan but after the biggest leak my waters were only slightly low so I'm hoping they've been able to replenish. It was really scary and I still don't feel confident that everything will be ok but we're in a much better position now than we were last week.

Anyway, I'd love to hear of anyone else who has experienced this. I am not in the UK so I'm not sure how my experience has differed from how the NHS would manage this. I have been monitored in hospital since the leak, I'll be in for a week and can go home after that if the scan is ok.

The Dr here recommended that I should do an induction at 36 weeks (if I get that far). Is that what others have experienced? I could Google this but tbh I have avoided googling anything as I am too scared.

Oh and if this happened to you what did you do when you got home? The Dr today said I could just do my normal activities but I'm so worried about it happening again. I was under private maternity care before this all happened and she was much more pessimistic about me even getting out of bed for the rest of the pregnancy!

I was further along but this happened to me at 34 weeks with DD2.

I was given a 10 day course of antibiotics, and a couple of doses of steroids. I was sent home and told not to do anything really strenuous, and obviously no sex, but basically could carry on as normal. They booked in an extra scan and blood tests as well.

It was all fine and I ended up being induced at 37 weeks.

@DancingPhantomsOnTheTerrace was the reason for the induction the PPROM?

Yes, when my waters broke they told me that if I didn't go into labour, I'd be induced at 37 weeks

I had PROM at 29 weeks, had to stay in for 48 hours to be monitored, given antibiotics and steroid injections. Nothing happened, baby was happy and was sent home, then monitored a lot for remainder of pregnancy. I was induced at 37 weeks, though she was very happy where she was and did not want to come. Looking back I really wish I had pushed against being induced, it was my first and I hadn’t been through it before so trusted the professionals. My waters remained at a good level the whole time and seem to have replenished. The induction itself was fine and positive. Baby girl was just little and struggled to get rid of her jaundice once born. Very healthy happy nearly 3 yo now. Good luck!

Thank you so much for sharing everyone. It's really helpful to know what is normal. When I'm a bit further along I'm sure I'll feel brave enough to Google!
