Silly question around heat

Hi all,

Hope you are all doing ok :) I'm wanting to take my 4 year old out to an outdoor event tomorrow that is on in the afternoon. However with the heat set to be 30 I had already weighed up the option about them being out in it but felt like with lots of water and an ice cream it would be doable.
However I've started worrying about myself I'm only 4 weeks pregnant but get very hot as I'm overweight. Reading up on the dangers of overheating got me paranoid
Anyone else got any thoughts on this heat. Thought with a second pregnancy I would have less irrational worries 😫

Thanks for reading!

Make sure that you are wearing weather appropriate clothing , to drink loads of water and try to stay in the shade and or wear a hat. (Or take a big umbrella? ). 30 degree is not that much, I don't think it should be a problem, just imagine pregnant women all over the World cope with all kind of weather

I used to panic about this sort of stuff in pregnancy too but you have to live your life and especially when it’s the second and you have an older child to look after. Don’t forget baby is right in your body core and your core temperature doesn’t actually change very much even if on the outside you feel very hot. I also had a really bad fever at 4 weeks with my second so my core temperature absolutely did rise but it was all fine. I hope you have a nice day 🙂

@PaperBeige thank you so much. I thought I'd be more chilled after having my first but I'm not off to a good start haha.

I live in a very hot country (currently 40+), have a 4 year old who has lived here since she was a couple of weeks old and I'm 7 weeks pregnant.
The shade is your friend - as are loose comfy clothes and LOADS of water. Just be sensible and you'll all be absolutely fine, no need to stress.

Women have pregnancies in much hotter countries than here! Just be sensible, stay hydrated, wear a hat, stay in the shade, etc, which is all a good idea for your child anyway.
