Flying at 13/14 weeks

Hi all. We are thinking of booking a last minute getaway on a 2/3 hour flight after my 12 week scan. I will be roughly 13/14 weeks when we are looking to go. If the scan goes well, is it safe to fly? I had a small amount of implantation spotting at 8 weeks which cleared within a week and no other issues. Blood pressure etc was all good at booking in appointment.

Also, anyone flew aboard around a similar time and how did you find it?

Thanks x

Totally safe to fly during a healthy pregnancy up to I think it’s 34 weeks ish? I went abroad twice last year/early this year while pregnant, once at 16 weeks and then again at 28 weeks, both times no issues, just make sure you check beforehand where hospitals etc are if needed, travel insurance cover, and get some of the compression socks for during the flight. Enjoy your trip! X

Talk to your doctor or midwife for advice on your pregnancy.
I did a lot of air travelling in my last pregnancy. No problems

I flew at 8 weeks, 10/11 weeks and I'll be flying again at 21 weeks. It's only really once I get to the third trimester that I wouldn't really want to.

Thanks ladies. There's so much contradicting advice online. I remember going to Brussels via Eurostar in my last pregnancy 4 years ago at 9/10 weeks without a second thought and the midwife at that time said it was absolutely fine. But I thinking the flying bit stumped me a little. I have my dating scan on Thursday so I will ask at the hospital for advice.

there’s no reason not to fly, unless specifically advised not to. I flew at 22 weeks this pregnancy, no issues. Just make sure you have medical insurance that cover pregnancy
