Symptoms faded at 11w pregnant

Feeling quite worried. This is my 2nd pregnancy, my first ended in a MMC at 12w at my dating scan. That time I saw a heartbeat at 7+3 and other than my sickness fading around 9 weeks, nothing was out of the ordinary. It turned out the loss was due to Turner Syndrome.

This time I saw a heartbeat at 8+0, but my sickness has faded early again, from around 10w onwards. Is it happening again? My scan is 1 week today and I don’t know how I’ll handle another loss.

Ps I am 11+1 today. I’m slim but have no bump / hardness at all, though NHS website suggests I should be bulging a bit from 11 weeks!

You may not be bumpy yet, particularly if little one is sitting low in your pelvis, or you have an anterior placenta. I wouldn't use that as a primary marker of your concern at this point.

Have you called your local EPU to see if they can see you?

Honestly, if you have a history of Turner pregnancy I would probably go and get a private scan + the NIPT asap now that you're beyond 10 weeks if you can afford to, which may help to manage anxiety around the situation by providing some clarity. Although I suppose they may offer you an NHS NIPT if you have history - have you discussed with midwife whether that's likely?

Have you tried your EPU? After 2 MMC I started bleeding and they scanned me early.

Is there any way you can get in touch with the NHS to explain ?, surely they would do an early scan.

I really feel for you. I also had several MMC before my DS, so I know how difficult pregnancy afterwards can be. If it helps, the placenta takes over at 10 weeks and some people experience a lessening of their symptoms then. Good luck xxx

It's normal for sickness to ease between 10-12 weeks because the placenta is now online. It often comes back for a nice little "reunion tour" 12-14 weeks before going away for good (or sometimes sticking around if you are unlucky or have HG).

Thanks all. Apparently the Turner Syndrome was pure bad luck and there’s no reason to think it should happen again. My EPU did kindly scan me at 8w this time around, but without bleeding they won’t see me again, especially as my dating scan is 1 week today. It may be a difficult week!

This is my first pregnancy & I my nausea stopped at around 10 weeks. I’m currently 11 weeks, still have tender breasts and feeling very tired. I’ve read that nausea can stop around this time.

I wouldn't worry at all about the bump, the baby is so tiny. I didn't have any bump til 20 weeks. If you're concerned, contact EPU, but it's quite common for symptoms to ease off at that stage, as the placenta will be taking over.
