Eras tour standing at 34 weeks pregnant?

Hello everyone!
Looking for some advice - I am due on 26th September and have tickets for Taylor swift at Wembley on 16th August. They are standing tickets and I’ll be 34 weeks pregnant.

I keep flitting back and forth between thinking maybe this is manageable and then wondering if it’s a silly idea for me to go when I’ll be quite heavily pregnant by then!

I think my main concern are the length of time I’ll be standing for and how difficult it will be to get out of the stadium, onto London public transport etc. If anyone has been before would love to hear how packed it is in the standing bit - likelihood of getting knocked etc? Can’t imagine it’s a particularly rowdy crowd but don’t want to be feeling too sardine like either!

Thanks in advance for any pearls of wisdom x

I was due to go to Liverpool at 25 weeks pregnant. I cancelled the week before and I’m so glad I did. It’s a really really long night as I’m sure doors open at like 4:30/5 and she didn’t finish until 11:15. I had a seat and was still glad I cancelled! It was really easy to sell my ticket and on the night I was relieved I wasn’t going to stand for that long. My other reason for not going was that I’d been the cinema a few weeks earlier and the baby had hated the noise. It was a surround sound one and I had to leave about 5 minutes in because the kicking was so uncomfortable! Obviously everyone is different but I felt that it was an expensive risk to take x

HEIHEI23 · 31/07/2024 19:06

Also I went to Wembley for a football match ar 20 weeks and it was very very busy getting into the stadium. I feel like I’m being so negative but would hate you to waste your money!

BellesAndGraces · 31/07/2024 19:14

There were pregnant women standing when I went but I don’t think anyone was as heavily pregnant as you will be. I would be nervous if it were me given the amount of standing!

annlee3817 · 31/07/2024 19:14

I went to see Alannis Morisette at 29 weeks and was grateful for the seat to sit in and rest occasionally, we got their after the supporting act. Everyone is different, by 34 weeks my feet were swollen and I would have really struggled being on my feet for too long, some women would have no problems with it at all. I'd wait until nearer the time and see how you feel. I doubt you'd have an issues selling the tickets if needed at last minute?

I was due to go at 23 weeks to the standing eras tour spots at Wembley. I cancelled my sister took a friend instead and had an amazing time.
I was sad but it was the right decision.
Not only is standing an issue, but hydration and regular loo breaks will also not be fun.

Hi - both me and my friend went to a June date at 28 weeks (we’re due about a day apart!) can only tell you my experience rather than advise, but we both found it better than we thought, as we were concerned leading up to it. However we got there after doors opened (halfway through the support act) to minimise standing, and also tapered off fluid intake to try and stop bathroom trips. The standing area was very calm, no one shoving or standing close (my other concern). The queues to leave the gig were long and took a while back on the tube, but all in all it was better than we had thought. Only you know how comfortable you are!

UltramarineViolet · 31/07/2024 19:56

I honestly wouldn't! You are standing for at least 4.5hrs for Taylor and Paramore plus you will need to be on your feet queueing to get in and out. Once everyone else stands up it would be difficult to find space to sit on the ground unless you are happy to be right at the back of all the people standing

roughmeasures · 31/07/2024 19:59

Hey, I went to Glastonbury at 36 weeks pregnant. I loved it. Yes it was tiring and I needed the loo more but I'm so glad I still went.

You may be able to get into the accessible viewing platform (might be worth asking ticketmaster before you go) and have a seat there?

She rarely tours so I think you'll be glad you went! You could always leave early to beat the crowds

Peonies12 · 31/07/2024 21:06

I’d be more worried about the getting away afterwards - public transport from Wembley after gigs is a nightmare. I’ve been very paranoid about crowds during my pregnancy though.

Becsim · 31/07/2024 21:20

Hi.
I went to see Taylor in Liverpool when I was 30ish weeks pregnant (and huge 😅). I had seated tickets but spent the whole concert standing and it was fine. There were lots of people on the floor who moved to the back and sat down and the stewards were letting people sit for a bit on empty seats if needed. We did leave before the last 4 songs so we could get out when it wasn’t busy.
it was amazing. If you can go, I’d really recommend it.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 31/07/2024 21:25

Honestly depends on your pregnancy.

I went to multiple gigs pregnant, even one at 38 weeks (did have a seat for that one though!). I was due 28th November and went to a couple standing gigs at end of October and was absolutely fine. I was walking around well and went on a multimile walk trying to get baby moving at 41 weeks.

Meanwhile another friend struggled with pain in back and hips and really couldn't walk past 30ish weeks.

You should honestly be fine. Stand further back, in my experience everyone saw bump and offered queue jump for toilet 🤣. If you're struggling contact venue to ask if any accessible seating/areas you could go.

afrikat · 31/07/2024 21:31

You could aim to get there after Paramore finish just before Taylor goes on to minimise time standing, and leave 2 songs before the end to beat the queues to the tube. We did the latter and got straight on one when we left. Totally depends on your pregnancy though. I was on crutches from 20 weeks so definitely couldn't have stood for that long so you might want to make the call closer to the time. You'll easily sell the ticket the day before if you decide to

Weallgotcrowns · 31/07/2024 23:40

Hi! I went to Taylor in Wembley at 18 weeks but had seated tickets. It was fantastic but I was really glad of the seat for the occasional rest and don’t think I could have managed standing for the whole show, let alone at 34 weeks! I also had standing tickets for Dublin the following week but gave my ticket to my sister as I knew I wouldn’t enjoy it. Could you try to swap standing for seated? Also, getting out of Wembley was insane - we took a different route to the main crowd but still took hours and I must say I felt it in my hips for a few days afterwards!

Cantbelievethatimafoolagain · 31/07/2024 23:42

My brother struggled standing and even got a blood blister on his foot. Also, wouldn't you be needing the toilet a lot?

Disastrouspottytraining · 31/07/2024 23:48

Are you in the SE already? If not, the good weather looks like its set to stay for a while and my app is forecasting 23c/24c until the 14th at least. Presumably will feel much warmer inside Wembley. So you need to think about plenty of water to avoid fainting and loo access if you decide to go.

SweetPeasInSummer · 31/07/2024 23:54

We’ve been to 5 dates and getting out was bedlam at each one, it’s really busy, huge crowds, no trouble that we saw but people don’t give space. As for standing for that long I think it would be tricky. This is just personal opinion but if I was standing I wouldn’t go at 34 weeks. If you do decide to go have a great time.

SilverliningHunter · 31/07/2024 23:57

There’s lots of Taylor Swift FB groups for Wembley, I’d swap your tickets for seated on there as someone will definitely want to for standing.

stayathomer · 01/08/2024 00:02

I’ve done a standing gig at 28 weeks pregnant and I really didn’t enjoy, and it wasn’t a bad gig, I was just tired irritable and dying to sit down, plus I wanted to kill everyone that hit off me

MissAtomicBomb1 · 01/08/2024 00:06

No way could I have done that!
PPs saying they did it at 28 weeks etc, well that's great but there's a huge difference between that & 34 weeks.
I'd swap for a seated ticket if you can.

Jada2024 · 01/08/2024 01:17

I’d imagine standing for that length of time at 34 weeks would be tough but if you choose to go I’d skip the support act and leave a bit early. That’s what I did at a recent concert but I also had seated tickets.

Chucklit · 01/08/2024 03:28

I was 27 weeks pregnant when I went to see Iron Maiden at the MEN. After the staff saw my belly they put me and ex up in a sideways box high up. We could barely see anything so went back down to standing and stood around the mid section. No crowding and we were able to enjoy baby's first concert that she could actually hear. No jostling, no shoving just enjoyment.

Chucklit · 01/08/2024 03:32

It is a bit late on to go, you'd have to make the judgment for yourself. You'd also have to stay to the very back of standing. It's your gamble to decide on.

Foxlover46 · 01/08/2024 18:02

I would go but mostly because I really like her !
I would happily buy your tickets if you do decide not to go though .. I am 50 on the 15th and really trying to find genuine ones that aren't over 1000 per ticket 🙈

Anny2020 · 01/08/2024 18:08

I went at 20 weeks, and was standing. We stood to the side so I could easily get back and to to the toilets and sit down away from the crowd if needed. My feet hurt near the end but I weren’t wearing sensible shoes!
the queue to get to the tube was the only real downside as it took a while and my feet were throbbing.
can you ring the stadium and see if they can swap you for seated tix? And leave a few songs early to avoid the queues?

Fuckitydoodah · 01/08/2024 18:13

I couldn't have stood up for that amount of time at 34 weeks. What if it's a hot day? I'd be dying to sit down after an hour when not pregnant, let alone at 34 weeks.

It's all the walking and travelling before and after as well as the duration of the concert. Could you sell your ticket and try and get a seated one instead?
