Hi mums! I have recently found out i’m pregnant with my first baby - absolutely over the moon! However it is my hen do in a few weeks at centre parcs and i’m slightly worried about it. Ive already told my moh i’m not drinking as I am taking Sertraline, another thing worrying me :( so it is mostly the activities - i’ve read lots of conflicting advice on the rapids/go ape and whilst I can see why you wouldn’t do it with a bump i’m not sure if I need to worry so early on? I am usually fairly active but have been feeling low lately (hence the sertraline) so was really looking forward to some fun physical activity to help me feel myself again! Any advice/experience? Tia xx

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

All of these should be safe in pregnancy (would just avoid any very hot saunas/hot tubs if that's on the cards)
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I can only speak for myself but personally I wouldn't do any of those activities whilst pregnant, early or not, but having suffered miscarriage before I could be over cautious.

I’m overly cautious from previous miscarriage so wouldn’t want to do those activities, also I felt so appalling in my first trimester this pregnancy I barely left the house. Centre parks may want you to sign a waiver for insurance purposes that could include that you’re not pregnant, just to bear in mind.

There is no way that those kind of activities would cause miscarriage at 7 weeks. Baby is very very tiny and well protected.

But at 7 weeks I felt absolutely rotten and couldn't even turn my head without vomiting. So that's something to consider.

I think Centre Parcs advise you not to go on the rapids and slides if pregnant. I would probably have puked my way down them anyway!

Saunas, hot tubs etc should be avoided

And I assume the Go Ape type activities you would have to sign some disclaimer form (have never done those activities as I am a wuss!)

I have to agree with the others, I couldn't/wouldn't do those activities while pregnant.

Go Ape themselves highly recommend you don't partake while pregnant and that is definitely one of the questions they'll ask you while filling out a form. To me, they're just not worth the risk. I was also extremely sick during early to mid pregnant (now 29 weeks) I would also avoid sauna and hot tub.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thanks all! I guess at least if I am being sick I won’t have to make up an excuse as to why I’m not joining in 🫣
