Hi, it's been a while since I've been pregnant and can't remember if it's always like this... I had a CVS a few weeks ago which carries a small chance of miscarriage. Thankfully the results were clear but I'm now 18 weeks pregnant, feeling great but not feeling any baby movements. I'm hoping it's just the relief from the hell of morning sickness, but I just don't feel pregnant anymore and can't kick the feeling I've miscarried from the CVS (no bleeding or pain so probably being irrational). Is this normal at this point, I am tempted to get a private scan to check everything is ok but don't want to waste my money.

Can you tell your midwife your fears, she may book you in for a scan. But I have had three babies and for no3 I started feeling flutterings at around 18 weeks but my first and second were much more around 20 weeks plus. I'd say it's still early!

I couldn't feel any definitive kicks or even flutters until well after 20 weeks or so.

I'd definitely say it's too early to be worrying, when you start feeling it depends on so many factors, I didn't feel one of my DS until about 22 weeks.

I had a CVS with DS2 so I'm familiar with your concern. I asked my midwife to listen for the heartbeat about a week after the CVS and she wouldn't do it in case she couldn't find it (just because she couldn't, not because it wasn't there) which didn't ease my anxiety of course, but he's now 13 and we're in the midst of the daily "get out of bed" dialogue.
