Sudden "vertigo" when rolling over

Morning,
I went to bed last night everything normal. 25 weeks pregnant with second. Woke at around 3am to terrible room spinning as I'd rolled over onto my right side. Lasted a few seconds of very fast spinning then slowed down and stilled, happened again when I moved my head in the other direction. Dh helped me up to go to the loo and I could walk to the ensuite but felt sick, may have been my panic though as it totally freaked me out. This morning when I wake, same thing exactly, violent room spinning for a few seconds when rolling from left side to right side, calms down then spins a bit if I roll again. (Haven't dared get up yet)

I had a really mild cold over the weekend, just sore throat and fuzzy head. No earache. Seemed gone yesterday.

Any ideas? Is this likely to be pregnancy related? Or one of those weird ear things that happens sometimes?
Any help gratefully received! Xx

I get vertigo, it sounds like that, see your GP immediately partly to rule out anything else. - it isn't dangerous, but you need to be taught the epley manoeuvre to nip it in the bud - and a doctor needs to confirm in which direction to perform the manoeuvre, because if you do it the wrong way round, you make it worse. It only works if you do it quickly though, in the first 24 hours normally

Don't know if you drive, but its illegal for 6 months after a vertigo attack

horrible, I know, so sympathy - the first time I got it I thought I was dying. if you are lucky, it could be an ear infection or something else more easily treated!

Am obviously not a doctor but sounds like laryngitis. I've had it, not during pregnancy, but I know someone who has.

Please see gp or midwife. In my case they had to let it run its course.

Hope you feel better soon.

Auto correct!!

Labyrinthitis

Thanks for your responses, I'm in a total panic. I have a scan today anyway, and have booked a GP appointment for after.

@mellongoose your friend who had labyrinthitis during pregnancy, do you know anymore about it? Was it first trimester or later? Did she just have to wait it out too?
TIA

From memory it was in early pregnancy. The condition had no effect on baby (who is now a healthy 8yo). However I would be wary of whatever anti sickness medication would be prescribed (as I don't know about it).

Therefore, a chat with your midwife or GP is the best place to start.

Try not to panic. Whilst being unpleasant, it's not dangerous. Mine was an inner ear imbalance and my brain had to get used to the new normal.
