Hi everyone,
I'm really panicking and keep crying because last week (at 5 weeks pregnant) I thought I was doing the better and healthier thing for my baby by eating sweet potatoes. I've now seen online that one sweet potato contains 1,403mcg with the skin on (I ate 2 potatoes with the skin off) and I honestly had no idea. I'm so scared and beating myself up about this. It's just such an exessive amount of vitamin A.😢 This is my first pregnancy and cant believe I've done it. what do I do?

The vitamin A (betacarotene) in fruits and veg is perfectly safe. Its the retinol version found in animal products that should be limited e.g. from liver

I had no idea either! I just googled it and even eggs are high in vit A apparently 😳I literally eat eggs every single morning!

I feel so lost, I feel like nothing is 'good'

Im sure you'll be fine op

There is absolutely no issue eating sweet potatoes in pregnancy. If you Google "sweet potatoes pregnancy" you'll actually find loads of people recommending them as a healthy option. Take a look at the NHS "foods to avoid" list and go by that, try not to freak yourself out with guessing other things that might be bad!
