Hi- Does anyone know if Tesco soft cheese is pasteurised? It doesn’t say it is on the label and can’t find the information online. I had it once cooked in a meal and another time on its own/cold….

Do you mean philadelphia type stuff? Yes it will be pasteurised as it would need to say on it if it wasnt

Don't worry about this stuff. If the cheese was cooked it doesn't matter if it's pasteurised. With unpasteurised cheese the hypothetical risk is listeria but it's very unlikely. You may be more likely to get other types of food poisoning due to your immune system being a bit suppressed - they (inc salmonella) will make you miserable but won't harm bb. But if you're at all worried speak to your midwife.

As a pp said, food in the UK (at least that sold in supermarkets) needs to be labelled if unpasteurised, and if it isn’t then you can assume it is pasteurised.
With regards to the chicken, I wouldn’t worry. I had food poisoning at around 16 weeks this pregnancy and called the EPU just to check there was nothing to worry about. They said you would need to be unwell to the point of hospitalisation before baby would possibly be affected.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply.

Anything cooked is fine. And unless it's labelled unpasteurized, assume it's pasteurized. I am incredibly blasé about food hygiene and I've never been ill.
