Hi,
Just looking for some advice please! Due baby boy middle of August but have been told it'll be a planned induction or csection at 38/39 weeks due to my blood clotting condition (Antiphospholipid syndrome). I've done some research and it's mixed on whether it's better to have baby out at 37 or 38 weeks. Worried that if they leave it until 39 weeks there may be increased risks to baby or I may go into natural labour and need to be put to sleep as I can't have an epidural if it's been less than 12 hours since taking heparin. Any advice is appreciated thanks x

Hi, first of all congratulations, it's not easy getting to this stage with APS! My three were induced between 38-39 weeks. All three inductions went really well and I was able to come off and go back on the drugs safely. I honestly found the labours the most straightforward part as it felt controlled and safe after such uncertainty. I opted for inductions as I wanted to avoid the chance of having a GA wherever possible. It's worth mentioning that all three of mine were small likely due to APS so I wouldn't have wanted to get them out much before 38 weeks.

Hi, I was due to go in for a csection this Thursday however waters broke Sunday morning and he arrived yesterday morning!! I would've been 39 weeks having the csection as that is what my hospital recommended. My labour didn't progress quickly so it was more than 24hrs before having the epidural luckily. X
