Hello fangle, how bizarre , I'm 22 weeks too and my baby is also a right little wriggler. I thought my last one was active but he was nothing on this. However, its not so bad as to make me feel sick. If I was you I would ring the midwife and talk over your concerns , if only for reassurance (Im seeing mine tomorrow and am going tomention all this movement)

Try not to worry, all the best.

dont think it a problem i was getting lot of pain when baby kicked and never seemed to stop

did have spd i later found out think that was making the kicks more pain full

dirtygertiefromnumber30 · 08/04/2008 20:45

I had the same thing with my last pregnancy. My midwife said that it was impossible for the baby to move 'too much' and that it just meant it was getting plenty of oxygen and was a happy and healthy baby!

I know what you mean though - i felt like she was in some kind of distress she was wiggling so much!

EffiePerine · 08/04/2008 20:47

I had this with DS - he was on the go constantly, esp at night. I did find sugar made it worse (don't think my excessive ice cream habit helped).

cmotdibbler · 08/04/2008 20:49

Mine was a total fidget - and when he was born, he was still a fidget.

I went in for monitoring, and you had to click when the baby moved - his trace was covered in these marks !

whomovedmychocolate · 08/04/2008 20:50

DD was like this constantly, I'm now pregnant with a DS and I can't actually believe it, but he's worse. Oh and to top it off the braxton hicks started at ten weeks and are bloody painful.

Of course it's not stopped me panicking when he doesn't wake up till 8am some mornings!

debinaustria · 08/04/2008 20:55

I'm 31 weeks and I have an absolute wriggler too - sure it's nothing to worry about though. I thought my last 2 boys moved a lot but baby boy#3 is the most fidgety(is that a real word?)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/04/2008 20:58

It's a good sign. Your lo is at a stage where it is big enough to be felt by you and still have enough room to 'bounce off the walls'.

LooseyC · 08/04/2008 21:36

It's funny, you worry when they don't move and then when they do! Sure it's all ok but you'll feel reassured if you have a check-up.

Know the feeling though, and ds also hiccuped all day - and still does now he's out.

fangle1 · 09/04/2008 10:41

glad it's not just me, reassuring there are lots of wrigglers out there!
got to call dr now anyway as have been struck down by some horrible bug, so typing from in bed. worried that will affect baby now- don't remember being this anxious with my first- mind you that was 8 years ago- seems much harder now that much older!

I took ds to the doctors today and people could see my belly moving about all over the place and were just staring at me like i was some kind of freak. If any of you caught doctor who on sat, it was like that when the little fat aliens were popping out of people. im not kidding. the waoman sat next to me got up and moved!!! Perhaps there is something in the water!!!

pigleychez · 09/04/2008 21:03

Fab post!
Im almost 27 weeks and baby has been a constant wriggler and kicker since about 20 weeks.
Some nights it drives me crazy and im just begging LO to go to sleep!

I sympathis about the kicks hurting too, sometimes i think i have a proffessional kick boxer in there.
DH laughs when i sit in the evenings, saying "oh" "Ahh" "ouch" with every kick!

I too wondered if this was normal and mentioned it my midwife. She said it was a good sign and not worry and baby hasnt developed ADHD in the womb!
She was shocked at the amount of movement she felt just while feeling my tummy.

i did worry about adhd! glad to hear it's a good sign!
