Pregnancy rhinitis - HELP ME

Does anyone have a miracle solutions for Pregnancy rhinitis?

I'm only just over 6 weeks pregnant and it's driving me to despair already. I can't sleep AT ALL, and I also have a 9 month old baby to look after. Im going back to work full time in 6 weeks and the lack of sleep / head space is making me so anxious already and Im dreading night time because not being able to breathe is driving me actually insane.

I had it really bad in my first pregnancy but I also had pneumonia at the start so don't think I realised how early the rhinitis would start.

I've tried EVERYTHING, and the only thing that helps are Sudafed nasal sprays which I know I can't be using and have thrown in the bin to stop me reaching for them in the middle of the night despair.

Any suggestions other than the usual suspects (humidifier, saline spray, olbas, steam, sleeping upright, exercise etc) would be amazing x

I'm in the same position and no answers I'm afraid, it drives me absolutely mad!

Can you see your GP about the nasal spray to see if any are safe in pregnancy in specific circumstances?

Would Vaseline at the entrance to your nostrils help?

Have you tried an antihistamine? Might be worth asking midwife or GP what type is pregnancy friendly and giving it a go for a couple of weeks to see if there’s a difference

Sympathy OP- I had this as well and it was AWFUL! I begged for help and eventually got a steroid nasal spray prescribed. It helped a bit- not as much as the sudafed spray though which I started using in the 3rd trimester out of desperation even though it's supposedly not pregnancy safe (nothing bloody is!) I figure it's localised so couldn't do much harm (and baby turned out fine)
Neti pot also helped a bit
