Hi- sorry I am new to this but just looking for anyone who has experienced Pelvic Girdle Pain? I am 23 + 3 with my 2nd and currently off work due to PGP. Is it literally crippling me and massively impacting my general mood as I can’t do anything I want including playing with my 5 year old. Any advice/reassurance would be greatly appreciated :) TIA. Loren x

Look up the pelvic partnership…they have some really helpful advice for people to see for help.

I had horrendous pain after the birth of my second child, following mild pain during the pregnancy. I saw a fantastic women’s specialist physio who manually treated me: massaged and worked with me to recover movement.
the difference after the first session was such a relief. I was completely immobilised by the pain.

I’m 22 + 5 today and in the same boat with PGP - this is my first and terrified that it’s already this bad it will just keep getting worse. Have you had physio yet on the NHS? If you speak to your midwife they can refer you - I start mine on Wednesday but was told in the group appointment to keep feet together always don’t stand on one leg ie sit down when putting on underwear and no hoovering/ pushing trolleys or lifting anything heavier than a kettle. No standing or sitting for longer than 30 mins and put a pillow between your legs when your sleep on your side. I’m following all of this but I’m still in pain constantly, it seems the less active I am the less pain i am in but I can’t do nothing for the next 17 weeks I’ll loose my mind!

Hi, I'm afraid I don't have a magical cure but can sympathise with you. I'm on #3 and have suffered with PGP with each of my pregnancies. It's debilitating. Like ypu, my ability to play/interact with my 3yr old and my 15mth old is severely affected amd leaves me feeling quite down.

I have to rest most afternoons and often find if I've overdone (read: done the bare minimum like walked to park) things then I pay for it for the next two days.

I have to just accept that I'll be out of action until I give birth, e d of Sept.

Some things which help minimise trlhe worst effects for me are;

Keeping legs together! Raising legs when sitting down for eg.

Wearing a belly belt, can get them from amazon.

Lowering my expectations of.what I can do while pregnant. This is tough 🫣

My PGP disappeared the literal moment I gave birth! Hang on in there! It's worth it.

I had this from about 28 weeks, i found a pregnancy ball and baths helped. There are videos on youtube to show you how to stretch on the ball and this eased the pain for me. Also took paracetamol at night when it got pretty bad! Good news is, it stopped completely for me once baby was here.

I’m 26 +4 with mono di twins and PGP came on suddenly for me. I can no longer walk without crutches and have been advised by physio to be in a wheelchair when needing to go out and to stay bed/sofa bound, but to getting up regularly then lie back down. NHS Pelvic Health Physio has been amazing, not that I can physically do any exercise but just teaching me how to get into bed and into a car etc, without make things worse, and supplying me with equipment to help. I would definitely recommend seeing a pelvic health physio.

Can I ask csn you feel this in your muscle or bones? I have muscular pain burn unsure if it's this. Going to try see a physio

Feels like both to me, like they are being ripped apart and broken when moving in certain positions. Hope the physio helps you x

I was not able to walk with pgp and went to see an osteopath who managed to get me walking again. I also found that lots of pelvic floor exercises prvenetes me from getting it in my following pregnancy.
