Hi all,

I am 39+5 weeks pregnant and have noticed a blotchy rash on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet. Has anyone else experienced this?

I’ve attached photos! My hands are slightly tingly but that’s all.

Is it itchy ? Phone your midwife if it is

user1473880439 · 17/06/2024 13:34

@ny20005 my hands are tingly but not super excessively itchy if that makes sense! I’ll need to phone Maternity Assessment as my community midwife’s only run on a Thursday unfortunately! Just wanted to see if anyone has had the same before I phone I’d hate to waste their time!

I'd phone to be in the safe side. Itching can be a sign of a liver issue so it's probably best to run it passed a professional to be on the safe side

Yeah phone maternity, need to rule out preeclampsia clx

ProjectEdensGate · 17/06/2024 13:39

Given how far along you are, I would take myself down to the Maternity assessment unit to be seen straight away.

@ny20005 @fairymary87 @ProjectEdensGate

thank you! I’ve called over and maternity said day care would be in touch over the next 3 days to do bloods.. I’m due in two days 😂 she just said I’ll maybe give birth while waiting..

What!!!! That's shocking!!!!!!!! 😮 maybe an A&E trip! So they can check your liver function etc, this is bordering negligence. I'm sorry x

liquoricecravings · 17/06/2024 13:56

Look in your maternity folder but I think it's a symptom they say you should contact the midwives about. You should have a number for your midwife team or an on call midwife in your folder too.

liquoricecravings · 17/06/2024 13:56

Definitely get seen.

@fairymary87 @liquoricecravings

I know it’s ridiculous isn’t it!! I don’t have a maternity folder it’s all on Badger App and the only contact numbers on there are for the Maternity Assessment. I seen my midwife on Thursday at 39+1 but didn’t have this at the time she’s wrote in my notes contact Maternity Assessment for any concerns. Day Care have just rang though and said I’ve to go in tomorrow at 10.45 for bloods! X

I'd be marching my booty to A&E not worth the risk! I'm so angry for you. X

liquoricecravings · 17/06/2024 14:28

I would go to the pregnancy unit at your hospital. I've been to mine for a number of things in both my pregnancies and always felt listened to. Don't risk anything with your baby just to be polite about it.

just a wee update.. was seen at daycare had bloods done, blood pressure checked, urine dipped the usual. Waiting on blood results now and was given dermacool cream in the mean time!
