Does booking weight matter?

Hello. So with baby one postpartum, I had gained alot of weight. I have now lost 40 kilos and my weight fluctuates between 85kg to 88kg. I eat healthy and workout everyday if not twicea day . I've started losing weight again but honestly I can't be bothered I'm happy with the way I look and I know I'm healthy. When people see me including the doctor they always look shocked when they hear my weight as I apparently look like im 70-75kg. Anyway we want to start trying for baby 2 in August and regardless of whether I lose more weight or not, is weight a big thing at the booking appointment? I was 84kg at my first booking appointment and never heard anything mentioned about my weight. I'll be 26 in July, 5ft 6. I don't want to be classed as high risk with a weight of say 88kg when I definitely don't look/feel 88. Sorry for the rant, its just playing on my mind!

@ladycarlotta thank you. It was hard work but so worth it! I just realised my weight at around 7 months had gone to 102kg with my first pregnancy and they still classed me as low risk and suitable for water birth and the ward. Only became medium when I was 8 days over lol. I wish you the rest of a good pregnancy x

@thepurgebegins - I am trying to put this delicately and I genuinely don’t mean to be rude but 85-88kg is very heavy for your height unless you carry a lot of muscle. I am 5’10 and was 80kg at full term with a 4kg baby and a LOT of water retention. I have an athletic build (ie not skinny) and when I’m not pregnant or newly postpartum am usually around 62kg.

Now, everyone is different - you may well have a broad frame and be very muscular if your twice daily workouts include lifting heavy weights, but I think you are asking this question because you know that your weight isn’t healthy.

If I were you I would take advice at your booking appointment and if they tell you that it would be safer for you and the baby to lose some weight then do it. You are already active so it sounds like the only change you need to make is to your diet. Likely portion control if you already eat healthy foods. Happy to help if you want any tips!

how did you read OP's post closely enough to establish her weight and height but not to comprehend that she has lost an amazing amount of weight already without your help? She even says she has started losing again. She doesn't need your 'tips'.

Fantastic for you that you weigh 62kg at 5'10. Great. I'm sure in an ideal world we'd all be at our goal weight, but this is not that world and OP's question was about how to practically proceed with the reality of things.

@ladycarlotta Thank you for replying to that post. It just put me down completley it's like when someone says " I don't meant to be a b*h" but then continues to be one. I keep saying ive lost 40 kilos since that number was stuck in my head but ive looked at my app today and I've actually lost 46 including a few lbs since since I put the post up. I realistically can't lost 20 more kilos in 2 months but will try my best. I feel healthy and my tests show I am so.. yeah thankyou for being supportive x
