Wearing just a sports bra while pregnant

I normally go to a group work out class about 3-4 times a week. If you've heard of Barry's Bootcamp, then it's like that. I've been a member for 2 years now.

I'm the kind of person who gets uncomfortablely hot and sweaty in a workout, hate clothing touching me so I'm always wearing just my sports bra and leggings.

I'm currently 4 months pregnant and starting to grow my baby bump, but as i just have just a sports bra on I feel like my showing and growing baby bump would make people feel uncomfortable. No-one has ever said anything, nor do i think they would. But I don't think I'd want to look at a man's sweaty beer belly while working out so is my sweaty baby bump along the same lines?

Husband says I'm mad to worry about it but I've been self conscious of it now for the past few weeks. Am I mad to worry about it?

Hi, I'm the same, get far too hot doing exercise so usually just wear sports bra and shorts. However I did decide to wear a tshirt as well (I'm currently pregnant as well) whilst running mainly for the same reasons x

A sweaty beer belly with completely naked torso isn't equivalent to a baby bump with a bra/crop top style item of clothing on upper body. A baby bump is a nice thing, beer belly isn't.
I wouldn't be offended, op

I personally wouldn't be offended and it's in a gym setting so you expect women to be wearing sports bras. It's not like you are sat down in a restaurant or somewhere that it might be a bit odd.

That's true. Not like I'm roaming around my local tescos with my belly hanging out. It's a hot sweaty workout class, and coming up to warmer weather (hopefully) its only gonna get worse. I have tried wearing my top as long as possible recently but I feel suffocated by it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence everyone. Just gonna rock it I think.

Definitely fine - be comfortable! as others said, it’s at the gym - not in an office!

I worked out right through my first pregnancy and it was in the days when there was really no such thing as pregnancy workout kit. I tried wearing DH's workout t-shirts, but they were huge and baggy and irritated the crap out of me so I often just worse sports bra and leggings (and these were sports bras that weren't really made to be seen).

Frankly, the sight of me working out at 38 weeks seemed to terrify all and sundry except my trainer anyway; I don't think the sight of my bump made much of a difference. And maternity leggings generally come up so high that there's only a thin band of skin between the two anyway. I work out in nothing but leggings/shorts and bra now for comfort and preferenc and would continue to do so if I were pregnant again, I think.
