Is this a crap pregnancy diet?

My food aversions have returned. I’m vegetarian too, and worried baby might not have enough?

For the past two days I have had

-Porridge (which contains seeds and almonds)
-Beans on toast
-Pasta with tomato sauce

I also have a handful of berries or an apple, some yoghurt now and then and a protein cereal bar as a snack.

I take a comprehensive prenatal with everything in, including iron etc

Does this sound ok? I know they say baby will take everything it needs from mum but I’m just not eating many/any greens right now!

Honestly OP that diet sounds significantly better than I managed to eat for most of my pregnancy and I’m now sat with my perfectly healthy baby girl in my arms so I think that’s absolutely fine! Try not to worry x

Please don't worry! That sounds like a great diet, pregnant or not. You're doing well considering you have food aversions. Just stick to that and you'll be fine.

Shove some veg in your pasta sauce, try red lentil pasta (gluten-free).
Easy things to shove in pasta sauce: carrot, onion, celery, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, peas, sweet corn, aubergine, courgette. You could pick a couple of different veg to hide each time you make tom sauce.

Cucumber on the side.

Does she need to go gluten free?

Midnightscrolling · 14/06/2024 20:08

Looks so much better than what I ate in pregnancy. Was sick for the first 14 weeks and all I could stomach was chicken soup and spreading cheese sandwiches. As time went on, I included chicken dipper wraps but completely ditched fresh fish, meat, veg. Just couldn't stomach any of it at all. Honestly just do the best that you can and keep taking your vitamins.

Not necessarily but it's another good way to get a different nutrients in when pasta is the only palatable carb.

Sorry I don't understand. I thought it was for people who were unable to process gluten? Otherwise, there are no benefits to gluten free?

Your body will crave what you need, multi vitamins are your friend during this time

Ok

I agree. Plus, don't worry too much, babies are very good at taking what they need.

I pretty much lived off coca cola, apples and prawns. Your diet sounds fine.

meltedchocolateandstrawberries · 14/06/2024 20:24

That sounds absolutely fine. I lived on a beige diet with my first, I couldn't stomach any fruit and veg at all and no strong flavors. I had a lot of plain pasta with cheese!🤣I'm nearly 8 weeks with my second and the food aversions have already started. Your baby will still get everything they need, don't worry.
