Hi there.

At 6 weeks I experienced spotting of brown and red blood which I presumed was another miscarriage. Had a scan at my EPU and they diagnosed SCH.

they sonographer said it was small, and not bothering the embryo, so she expected it would resolve soon, either be absorbed completely or a bit more would come out. It turned brown shortly after this scan, and after a few days, went back to normal with no bleeding.

I’ve hit 7 weeks today - feeling optimistic and then hello, more of the same colour of blood this evening.

im guessing this might be the same SCH, just it hasn’t healed properly yet. I have a slight, almost burning sensation that comes and goes same as I felt last time, in the same area).

Is it worth contacting my EPU again tomorrow? Or is this normal for a SCH? They didn’t tell me how long it would typically take to heal. I’m wondering if it’s common for the same haematoma to stop and start, or if this is a ‘new risk’ presenting itself?

thanks

If could be the same hematoma, are you on blood thinners? I am and got told what meds to stop in case of bleeding again. I had a small one too.

I was told when bleeding do full bed rest, when stop bleeding just pelvic rest, no lifting, no bending, no sex, no exhaustion. It does usually disappear on its own in a few weeks, but not one week to the other.

Can you get progesterone? Dr said it helps.

No harm in re-checking - I had one and was told it could take 14 days to re-absorb or heal fully. As with anything, any concern just get in contact with the medics. Nothing worse than worrying
