35 weeks - reduced growth velocity

Hello, looking for some advice. I am 35+4 and was seen this morning in maternity triage (in an NHS trust), who referred me for a growth scan following a previous one about 2 weeks ago. Baby's growth has slowed down. They were on the 28th centile 2 weeks ago and have now dropped to the 15th centile. The OB who looked at the scan said a rescan should be done in 2 weeks and that we would work out a plan accordingly. However, the ultrasound department rejected the rescan, stating that the hospital guidelines are that no rescan is done unless the growth has dropped by 25 centiles. The OB was surprised and said that since I have a midwife appointment at 37 weeks, she can measure me then and if I measure small she should refer me for a scan. We are obviously worried, not least because of the fact that the OB's plan - as to which she had no doubts - was simply rejected. The potential risks seem quite serious. Does anyone have any insight to share, or experience? Should we try to go private? It seems late for that. Thanks in advance.

Hi as long as your baby is within the normal range and is growing to some degree then they arent too worried in my experience. Mine was 12th centile at 32 weeks then 38th at 35 weeks then back to 14th at 38 weeks. Consultant is happy that my baby is happy and ok to go full term.Measurements are not 100% accurate and there are other factors they can look at such as placenta function.
