I'm 6 weeks and the sickness is so real 🤢

How long did you have morning sickness and what did you do to help ease it? I'll try anything but ginger, I think that would make me even more sick 😂🤢

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I had to go on cyclizine at like 11 weeks I left it so long to get help from the doctor till I couldn't coupe anymore which I wish I just got it straight away , if your suffering badly dont be scared to get medication, I wasn't throwing up much, just extreme nausea, but when I did it was out of nowhere lol!
it didnt stop till about 20 weeks for me and it just dissapeard overnight after that now 39 weeks and I feel no nausea !
but try really cold drinks and chewing gum helps a bit!, but just hang in there it gets better!

Oh I remember the days! I could only describe it like it felt like I was in permanent state of hungover from drinking a bottle of vodka. It was worse in the evenings. Get medication now. It didn't work for me but worked for many others I know. Came on suddenly and eased off about 15weeks. I love cooking with ginger but couldn't stand it during pregnancy. I lost a stone in weight in the first trimester during both my pregnancies.

It started easing off after 12 weeks for me although still the occasional vomit at 15 weeks. Snacking sometimes helped with the nausea - with DC1 my DH brought me breakfast (often fruit or toast, anything milky made it worse) before I got out of bed which helped. Salad was good for continuous snacking without feeling bad but I went for most things as long as they weren't milky or creamy!

I'm 12 weeks on Wednesday and it's worn off the last week or so, although yesterday I felt quite nauseous for a few hours. Go on anti-sickness meds, don't suffer unnecessarily.

I had sickness for 18 weeks (always in the evening), I tried anti sickness tablets but they didn’t work (just made me sleepy).

The only thing that worked a little was eating really boring carb meals in the evening when I knew I was going to be sick - toast, potatoes.

I also kept eating what my body naturally craved in the daytime (so many things - seaweed, cheese, spinach, etc..), and it was trial and error as to what stayed down from one day to the next. I also tried to have nibbles of things to stop myself getting suddenly ‘hungry sick’ as I call it.

Good luck OP.

Peaked at 8-9 weeks for me and was gone by 16 weeks. It got easier to cope with though, for sure – I just kind of got used to it. I was nauseous all day and vomited any time I was in the car, ate anything, opened the bread bin (?) or had running water anywhere on me (?!) – there was a lot of puking in the shower!

Definitely ask your GP about medication. I am still sick at 23 weeks and it's not worth trying to suffer through it, especially if you're unlucky and it doesn't ease off. I tried 3 medications before finding ondansetron worked best for me.

Houseofpainjumparound · 12/06/2024 21:54

14 weeks for first, 2nd I had to get medication.

Things that helped, travel sickness bands for wrists, eating little and often, salty foods like bacon sandwiches, munching on dry chocolate cereal.

I also couldn't stomach milk so made porridge with water heated up and drank alot of squash

elmo1990 · 12/06/2024 22:04

It sucks I had it until 20 weeks first time and 12 weeks second.
I found having a couple of salted crackers (like Ritz) as soon as I woke up helped.

But if you find you can't keep any thing down go to your GP to get the anti sickness meds
