Recurrent CP- success stories of natural pregnancies

I've had 4 CP this year, I get pregnant easily but unfortunately miscarry around 4-5 weeks. I already had a DS who is 3 years old.

Looking for any success stories from people who have had loses and gone on to get pregnant naturally without any medical treatment/intervention?

My tests so far have all been negative and I know I might be offered progesterone but wondering if anyone has successfully done it without anything :)

I'm so sorry for your losses, it's so hard. Not completely without help if I'm honest... What worked for me was testing and treatment for low NK cells via implantation clinic at Coventry University hospital. Literally first cycle post treatment after 5 losses trying for a second at similar gestation to yours. I'd really recommend at least speaking with them.
There will be plenty of stories im sure from others that were successful without treatment but I think it's important for you to know that further testing beyond the NHS standard ones are available.

I meant to add that when I say treatment it was a 3 month course of Sitigliptin, which is a drug used for diabetes management. Cost me nothing as GP did the prescription. No side effects, nothing invasive at all.

We've booked for some private tests as well as the nhs ones that we'll be having and were taking a month off but am already debating that month off and think we might try again, but wanted some hope it could happen without intervention

I had an nk cells biopsy at Coventry after my 5 th loss which came back with low nk cells which correlates with lack of stem cells in the uterus . I took sitaglitin for 3 months which is meant to increase them.

Sadly I had another loss after this ( my 6th ) then two weeks after this I conceived again and my rainbow is now nearly two .
.
So I'll never know for sure if the meds did help as my 6th loss wasn't tested . If it was abnormal then sitagliptin wouldn't have helped .

I found prof Brosens to be really informative and he seems genuinely invested in finding out the causes of recurrent miscarriage.

4 of my 6 losses were chemical pregnancies.

I do have an older child conceived before my miscarriages when I was 28.

I conceived my daughter aged 37.

Sorry OP, not what you were looking for. There is a miscarriage risk calculator on the Tommy's website, given our histories are identical you will hopefully find the calculated risk reassuring. Prof Brosens ran it during my consultation. Lovely to hear of another Sitigliptin baby @Scorpion84@Scorpion84
Mine is 10 weeks old and I'm still pinching myself!

I had 2 early miscarriages and a blighted ovum between DC1 and 2. Always conceived first or second month of trying. Went to recurrent miscarriage clinic and was advised to take low dose Aspirin. Next pregnancy was fine.

Carportforme · 09/06/2024 21:31

Piggletta, did they say why they suggested aspirin, I know about blood flow, etc, just wondering if they mentioned it helping with autoimmunity at all.

We have uses the tommys calculator and it says 70% chance, is this with nothing? A 70% chance of a healthy pregnancy with no intervention?

Yes that's right, these figures are if trying again, I believe with no intervention. Everyone's situation is different but still your odds are good :)

@Chasingbaby2 I’m so glad it worked out for you. I’ve had secondary infertility since a 19 week loss in 2021. My story is long so I won’t try an type it all. I’m just wondering if sitagliptin is only used for low Nk cells or if it’s used if you have low stem cells or are they the same thing? I’m sure I have high NK cells so I don’t want to add it to my IVF and cause issues but I’ve heard it can also calm inflammations.
