Someone help me. I literally can't cope. I have such intense morning sickness I feel shocking. Nothing is helping. I am miserable. Had two different medications from the GP neither are working. Being sick all day feeling sick all day and night it's horrendous I just want to cry

Hello, I’m sorry you’re feeling so horrendous. If you’re not able to keep fluids down (it sounds like you’re not) you need to get to hospital. Dehydration can set in quickly and can be very dangerous. It can take a few different drugs before you get to one that works for you, and GPs will always start you on the mildest one before moving on to something else. But if you’re at the hospital today they may rehydrate you via IV and try a different drug for the sickness.

Please don’t convince yourself you’re over reacting or being a hassle. Severe sickness is serious and won’t get better on its own.

Thank you for the advice. I am waiting for the EPU to contact me back with what to do next. I have had two different medications that don't seem to be helping at all. Although the second one giving to me seems to be a 'step down' from the first one. Thank you again for taking the time to reply I really do feel so unwell

What medication are you on? It took until my 3rd different one (ondansetron) before I stopped being sick 20+ times a day and I’ve been on that one since 10 weeks I think (although I’m vague on the memory of what I had when as I’ve blocked it out!) I’m at 34 weeks now and still taking it twice a day and am mostly well enough to have a couple of meals a day and keep them down. So definitely been in a similar position to you and I know how wretched it is.

I hope EPU get back to you quickly and come up with a treatment plan.

They gave me metoclopmide first and then stopped that and gave me cyclizine

It's just horrendous isn't it. I can't even explain how awful I feel.

Sounds like I am in a similar position to what you was in. I'm glad you found something that worked though!

So do I! She said someone will call back today

I’m in exactly the same position as you, I am eight weeks with first and had Prochlorperazine and now on cyclizine, but just feel so ill never felt so horrendous in all my life it’s now making me question whether I want to carry on, I don’t know how much more of it I can take. Sending a virtual hug.

It's horrendous isn't it. I'm going back to EPU tomorrow as this cyclizine is doing absolutely nothing for me I feel horrendous. I'm 8 weeks today. I'm here with you it's so horrible. I honestly feel like I'm dying no joke. Hang in there sending you so many hugs and love I really do understand

Cyclizine doesn’t do a thing. I refused it in this pregnancy because it didn’t touch the sides in my first, and I think it’s the favourite “first try” drug. Utterly useless.

Hope you’re getting somewhere with EPU?

It literally does nothing, I don't know why they even attempt it with people that are as poorly as we are. It's ridiculous and prolongs the suffering.
I'm in EPU been here all day, on an IV fluid drip got an hour left, they gave me an antisickness injection and did some blood and urine tests.
They wanted me to eat but I couldn't stomach it and just couldn't manage any food.
Waiting for the doctor to see what happens next.
Thank you for checking on me I appreciate it. A lot of people don't understand how we feel xx

There is just nothing worse! You have my total sympathy. I'm 34 weeks into a hyperemesis pregnancy. Mine got much better at 19 weeks but then I've had reflux/heartburn sincw then and haven't really felt "well". Also still vomit once most days. You do get used to it..which sounds odd I know! I just found it really difficult that people would say it would get better at 12, 14, 16 weeks then when it didn't I'd be so disappointed.
The charity 'pregnancy sickness support' are definitely worth checking out for advice and support. There is a relatively new guideline from RCOG called 'management of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy' . Have a look on Google - the appendix at the end shows you what medications you should be offered and how they should be treating it.
I really hope you feel better soon!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I have also been told I have HG in this pregnancy. It's just so awful isn't it. There is nothing to describe the feeling it's just horrible & awful & grim! Thank you for the information I will definitely take a look. I hope your last few pregnancy weeks fly by so you can feel well again! It's just horrible & seems a never ending road!
