Hey everyone I just wondered if anyone else has noticed they seem to burn a lot more calories in the 1st trimester walking, doing normal daily activities ? My Apple Watch seems to hit a lot more active calories at rest or walking etc than I did prior to pregnancy! Is this a thing ?

That's completely normal your body works harder right throughout pregnancy you burn more calories your blood volume increases all sorts of thing's . I thought it was hilarious my Apple Watch actually knew quite early on that my body was working harder .

The first indicator of implantation for me was that my RHR (which I keep a close eye on as it for me is strongly linked to what my thyroid hormone levels are) raising.

So from about 11dpo it went up by 1 bpm per day until it was about 10 bpm over my usual resting heart rate and it stayed about 10-12bpm higher during the first trimester. It rose even more towards the end of pregnancy

Yep RHR goes up during pregnancy. I wear a Fitbit and it was my first sign that I was pregnant as it went up loads at the beginning but then dropped a little at 7ish weeks (which panicked me after 2 losses where my rhr did drop back down just before the losses) but it was my body getting used to it all I guess but I did take it off at 8 weeks until after my 20 weeks scan as I became a bit obsessed checking it and worrying if it went down a couple bpm. It fluctuated up and down by a couple bpm but was slowly creeping up until end of pregnancy it was around 80/90bpm resting HR where it’s normally 55-58 before ovulation and 60-63 after ovulation (goes up a little when fertile then up again after ovulation).

I found it all so fascinating when ttc. It matched up with my ovulation test sticks so I didn’t need to bbt. Don’t worry if it fluctuates though as it is normal! It also goes up when I’m run down or poorly.

Yes mine went up almost immediately, then fell back to my ‘normal’ at 8 weeks which panicked me having had a miscarriage before -but since then has generally stayed higher with some fluctuations

Yes completely normal. I can feel mine practically beating out of my chest at the moment even though it's not dangerously high, just higher than my usual!
