Intramural fibroid contacting endometrium with mild intendation (type 3)

Hello,

I am 40 years old and currently undergoing ivf treatment. I have an intramural fibroid contacting endometrium with a mild intendation (type 3). It’s measuring 2.1 cm x1.9 cm. Has anyone had successful live birth following ivf with type 3 intramural fibroid? Many thanks in advance!

I didn't have IVF but had a fibroid the size of a pear. Had natural pregnancy and gave birth aged 37, and there was no problem with the fibroid. It's not the same situation but hopefully offers a little reassurance.

I have three fibroids one of which is intramural and a similar size to yours. I got pregnant naturally after about seven months of trying, aged 38. To my knowledge, it's only affected my pregnancy in that one of my fibroids (not sure if it's that one) is low down near my cervix so I may have to have an elective section - I have an appointment to discuss this week. But it didn't seem to have an effect on actually getting pregnant.

(I'm now 24 weeks and everything has been going smoothly so far, touch wood)

Thank you @clarepetal @malimoon for taking the time to reply. That’s very reassuring and I hope I will have a happy ending too. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and I really hope everything goes well for both of you ☺️

@Wanttobemamma good luck with your IVF and I hope everything works out for you. My understanding is that generally when fibroids cause issues it's if they're in places that sort of limit the surface area the embryo could adhere to. Yours isn't large at all so I would be surprised if it caused any major problems. But I'm not a doctor this is just based on trying to understand my own situation!
