Subchorionic haematoma 8 weeks and work

Hi, looking for advice. I had quite a bit of bright red bleeding 2 weeks ago and went to EPU where they told me I had a subchorionic haematoma and to have pelvic rest and not be on my feet for long periods or to lift much. I had a scan last week at my ivf clinic and was told it was a large sch and I should have some time off work and rest.

There’s so much conflicting information about what to do and the job I work involves working on my feet all day so I don’t want to be doing that if I shouldn’t but I feel physically fine to be in work.

Has anyone had a large sch in first trimester and what were you advised to do? I have another scan at the epu in 2 weeks and hopefully it will have shrunk or disappeared by then.

Hi Op
I did in early pregnancy and the sonographer didn’t advise any cautionary measures but I did put myself on bedrest and worked from home for two weeks as I read it could help and I’m lucky I have a job where I can.
it was gone by my 12 week scan.
I think if you can I would take the advice they have given you!
hope it resolves itself asap! X

Take the advice and go on bed rest/reduce time on your feet at least until your next scan. I had a very large SCH which unfortunately ended my pregnancy.

I was told for a small one to avoid bending, lifting and do pelvic rest but if bleeding to do complete bed rest.

For a large one just to be safe, I would take time off work; moreover if you're on your feet all day.

They do prescribe progesterone to help reduce the bruises.

@Goingthere sorry to hear that. I’ll be taking some time off work/wfh if I can.
Thanks @Olivie12 the advice is so conflicting so better to be safe than sorry
