2x faint positive test 5 weeks

Hi, I did 2x pregnancy test when I was 3 days late for pregnancy. Both test were 30 minutes apart from eachothers. 1st was a very faint positive and second was more clearer faint positive line, this was done on Thursday. I did the clearblue 6 days early pregnancy test at home.

Yesterday about 3pm I had bleeding started like it would be for period, but this has continued since yesterday till present, it is now 12.20pm.

I did visit the hospital and they were not sure as it was still early and may have been period as he did a pregnancy test on me showing negative, I did the same thing once I got home going to bed, following morning using the 6 days early test and it also showed negative.

Has anyone ever experienced this? I have been advised to ignore it as I am pregnant due to 2x faint positive lines on Thursday.

I am confused if I am pregnant or not and if those tests were an error and I am currently in period?.

Hi OP.
It sounds like you're having a chemical pregnancy. I'm surprised the hospital didn't talk to you about this.

Yes really sorry but does sound like a very early loss. I'm surprised at the hospital saying to consider yourself pregnant, that seems cruel to give you false help seeing as you've started your period and are having negative pregnancy tests.

Hi I am sorry I was in a rush writing my post.

So doctor or nurse unsure what he was said its probably period but unsure as its still early. My sister in law thinks its implantation bleeding so therefore I am still pregnant as both my test showed faint positive results. Surely implantation bleeding don't last that long by what I have read online? I don't know really much about chemical pregnancy as it is just now I have started reading about it.

It was out of hours hospital so I am guessing it was a nurse and not a doctor, I'm not sure. But in regards to chemical pregnancy was not mentioned. Has anyone else ever been through this? Is chemical pregnancy something to worry about?

Chemical pregnancy is a very common form of early miscarriage. I've had several. And later miscarriages as well.

I did have four children as well though.

There's no reason to think you won't have a successful pregnancy next time.

You suspect chemical pregnancy when tests are very faint and getting fainter, and bleeding starts at five weeks (so about a week after you miss your period).

Personally I would have taken those tests as evaps.

Thank you everyone.

I have discussed with my partner and we both feel this may have been a chemical pregnancy. We are confused in regards to how does this work with menstrual cycle and when can we try again?.

The first day of bleeding counts like your period.

So you should ovulate in 14 days and you can start trying whenever you would like to.

I'd recommend having sex on days 11, 12 and 13.

Best of luck, and I'm so sorry that this wasn't your month.

I have been told and I also read this myself that pregnancy chances are higher after a chemical pregnancy. Is this true?

I'm never sure, to be honest!
Some sources say that, and others say it isn't true.

I hope you get pregnant soon, and that you have a successful pregnancy next time.
