It's normal - part of pregnancy - it gets much worse and honestly you will get used to it.

It means nothing bad, it's just part of the general ick and moistness that is pregnancy.

Lulumama · 04/04/2008 21:33

yep, what WMMC said

i thought you;d only just had a baby !

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:35

OK thanks chocolate! I had lots of discharge in my first pg (sorry TMI) but didnt rememeber any of it being EWCM which have only ever associated with ovulation. But if thats normal too, thats fine!!

Curleyshirley - actually the snail trail tipped me off to my first pregnancy - it kicked off before the morning sickness did.

Not so bad this time though so I guess each pregnancy is indeed different

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:39

oh lulumama I have . Well, last July - she is 9 months now!!

Have been caught out by the whole breastfeeding not being a reliable contraceptive thing!!! DH and I had decided to be relaxed but never in a million years...!!

Shock has worn off and now excited.

congratulations !!

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:40

Ok thanks everybody - for a moment had vague worries my body had 'forgotten' I was pg and was revving up for ovulation again or something

Curleyshirley, now that is a scarey thought. But no, you are entirely normal and wonderfully pregnant again!

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:43

Thank you! Still early days of course.

I had an emergency c-section last time (very traumatic but suspect they all are) and have been scouring the boards for VBAC v elective C threads and have seen your very useful advice and thoughts. As I say, early days still, (thats MN for you, a new thing to obsessively search threads for ;) ) but I hope we can talk again later nearer my decision time.

Lulumama · 04/04/2008 21:45

am always here, curley ! WMMC is a fount of knowledge on VBAC, she has some super reserach and info

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:46

I know wmmc - can you imagine?? Would all get very confusing for me ;)

thanks for your advice!

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:49

OP posts:
Lulumama · 04/04/2008 21:50

preggers. it is egg white cervical mucus

clear stretchy discharge ,most commonly appears when you are ovulating

curley, klaw also excelletn at VBAC stuff

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 21:51

Egg White Cervical Mucus (I blame MN for even knowing that!!)

Thanks for charing too MrsMattie - glad to know I am not alone right now!

Thanks lulumama re klaw.

(BTW, I saw your thread that said em c-s as a result of 'failure to progress' was your bugbear - that was exactly what happened to me, after waters breaking, no contractions, induction, early epidural, no mobility, no dilation, risk of infection high as too much time had passed, baby c-sectioned out. But but but, I want to get to at least the 12 weeks scan before I start processing and dealing with all that. THEN I will come a-knocking!)

OP posts:
preggerspoppet · 04/04/2008 21:57

funny, I didn't think of that one.
now I have a name for it!
you learn a new thing every day....

Lulumama · 04/04/2008 21:58

i seeeeeee, curley.

if you have an epi before labour is established, then it can really slow labour, as does being immobile.

it is my bugbear, and i loathe the term failure to progress as it is sooooo negative.

you ask me anything you want, when you want. good to get things clear in your mind early on

curleyshirley · 04/04/2008 22:04

yes, I quite agree lulumama! I had a double whammy - "failed induction" AND "failure to progress" thrown at me. One big failure all round!

Thanks v much. Off on hols tomorrow for a fortnight but will be back!!

Glad we have enlightened you preggers. .

Thanks again for your reassurance ladies!
