I’ve had 5 loses in the past year, and finally have my BFP, but I also have my recurrent miscarriage appointment in 2 weeks time, has anyone been in the same situation before? I think I’m still going to go just incase, but wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation and if they’ve gone to the appointment and how the appointment went? Will be about 6+1 on the day of the appointment

Congratulations! I would absolutely still go. They may well prescribe you progesterone due to your history and give you the valuable extra care and attention you need.
I had my daughter after being referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic and they really took care of me. I had extra blood tests, all the investigations and checks done and they gave me my first scan too.
I had progesterone and strongly believe my daughter wouldn’t be here without it.

so absolutely still go, it’s early days and you need all the extra support and care you can get.

I also had 5 miscarriages before I had my DD x

I would also go even if you’re pregnant. I had four miscarriages and finally started with recurrent miscarriage clinic just when I got pregnant last year. I was given progesterone by the consultant once pregnancy was confirmed via early scan and lots of extra consultant appointments and scans then onwards. I’m now 36+2 and for me I think the progesterone and aspirin made the difference as I had many losses between 7-9 weeks prior to this. As I got pregnant, I only saw the consultant gynaecologist from recurrent miscarriage clinic once and then moved to a consultant obstetrician for the pregnancy but the initial consultant had lots of blood work done which was useful. I’ve had great care throughout this pregnancy being consultant led. Congratulations, I hope it all goes well for you OP!

Yes!! That’s the point of them!! Why wouldn’t you go? I had the same, multiple miscarriages got pregnant between appointments whilst waiting for the chromosome results (thought I was doomed again), and all was fine. Was prescribed heparin and progesterone (I had these before but sadly miscarried). This time I was prescribed a drug to treat BV (I didn’t have BV, but they said it was to help any possible infection), and my child is now 3!!

They will also give you fortnightly scans and help you through to 12w. If you think about, the aim is for the recurrent miscarriage patients to stay pregnant, and that’s what they will help you do, it’s not a fertility clinic. I wish you all the luck!!

I would definitely still go. I found out I was pregnant with my first child at my recurring miscarriage appointment (I was two days late so they did a blood test before I would start any recommended treatment). They offered a lot of support and I was transferred to the care of the epu straight away who monitored my pregnancy for the first 16 weeks which gave me a lot of reassurance.

Congratulations to you on your pregnancy!

Thank you so much everyone, so helpful! I’ll definitely still attend then! 😊
