Whooping Cough Vaccine at 11Weeks?

My GP has booked me my whooping cough and flu vaccination at 11 Weeks... Now this is my first pregnancy but this is too early right?
Everything online says 16-32 weeks... Do I need to ring up and cancel this appointment?

I've already had to rearrange the 16 week appointment as the receptionist at the maternity ward booked it a month too early... Im really not having the best of time with these appointments :(

I have also heard after 16 weeks. When I went for my 12 week scan the vaccination nurse was in the hospital but she wouldn't do mine as it was too early. Got it done at 20 weeks/the next scan in the end.

That was whooping cough, I think flu you can have any time because the flu one is for you but the whooping cough is for baby... But don't quote me on that, I haven't had the flu one

I have understood as well between 16 and 32 weeks so that it protects the baby after birth too. I would double check that Definitely.

You can have the flu vaccine at any time, although it's more beneficial going into the autumn when flu starts to circulate more. The whooping cough vaccination should be given from 16 weeks onwards so it does sound like yours has been booked a bit too early - give them a call and see if you can move it, or if there's an antenatal imms team in your hospital you might be able to have it done there when you have your anomaly scan, to save you an extra trip to the GP practice.

And I feel your pain with appointments - my midwifery service booked my 16 week appointment for 20 weeks and at the same time as I was already booked in for a blood test at the antenatal clinic, I had to really pester them to get seen at 16 weeks. Couldn't believe how bad their admin was!

Its standard in my health board area that the whooping cough is given at the 20 week scan

After 16 weeks in these parts anyway. Presume to make sure the “boost” will cover baby long enough.

Yeah it’s after 16 weeks. We get ours at 20 week scan. I didn’t even know flu jab was offered at this time of the year.

Hey OP. Also my first pregnancy. I had my flu jab at about 10 weeks but my midwife advised to have my whooping cough at 16 weeks which I did. I’d move the whooping cough
