Success stories with bleeding

Hey ladies, currently 6weeks +2 I’ve had bleeding on and off since 5week +1 both red/pink and then brown.

I did have an early scan through the EPU last week and baby was secure and cervix closed. I’ve had a previous mc at 6 +6. They didn’t seem concerned and said it was old blood and if it was filling a pad in 20 mins to phone back.
I’ve not had any cramps, my pregnancy symptoms are still there ie sickness, tender breasts, bloating and constipation!! I know all the facts and what not.

But I’m hoping for some good news, as if this results in a mc it’d be my second in 7 months.. I have another scan booked by the EPU for the 30th of this month, but the waiting is killing me!

any success stories?🌈🤍

I bled almost every day (but in a stop start way) from about 4 weeks until 9 or 10 weeks. Started off red on the first day or two but then brown. Made me so incredibly anxious and throughout my whole pregnancy I always checked the tissue after I wiped just in case! All was fine though and DD is now 8.5 months !

totally understand the wait for the scan being hard though I found it so so hard and after 9 months of it still don’t have any advice for managing the anxiety around that! It only got a bit easier for me after 30 weeks when I could feel her really regularly

Ljhunt · 19/05/2024 14:00

I should also add that I did get cramps on and off from about 7 weeks so don’t panic if that happens too as it’s still normal!

Peonies12 · 19/05/2024 14:23

I had similar bleeding at 6 weeks, I’m now 21 weeks and all fine! But it’s so hard to know; the bleeding I had with a MC stated exactly the same but got worse quickly.

Cbljgdpk · 19/05/2024 14:34

I had bleeding with my DC and all was fine; around 4/5 weeks, 6 weeks and 7 weeks. I actually thought the 5 week one was a period.

Vettrianofan · 19/05/2024 14:37

Yes, he's 17 and going to be learning to drive very soon. Scary time all those years ago, I remember it well....Good luck OP. It's all sounding promising for you😃

StickSeason · 19/05/2024 14:39

Bled at 6 weeks and had an early scan to check heart rate. All good. DS is now 19 and sitting on the sofa next to me!

SquashPenguin · 19/05/2024 14:43

I bled continuously from weeks 5-8. Baby is now due in two days time 😊 Was very scary when it was happening but the EPU and my IVF clinic were brilliant for early scans and reassurance.

spiderlight · 19/05/2024 15:08

I bled quite a lot at 5-6 weeks. He's now 17 and 6 ft 1.

Thanks for this! My last mc also started and ended pretty quickly (4 days in total) this one going on longer is giving me so hope at least x

Thank you so much ladies! Reading stories like this helps SO much! I am feeling pretty confident but also expecting the worst. I’ll update after my scan🌈🤍

I had bright red bleeding at 4 weeks for a few minutes - it was actually dripping out of me into the toilet. I had only got my BFP the day before and was certain it was going to be a chemical pregnancy, but my tests got darker each day. I then had reddish brown spotting for almost 2 weeks until I was able to get my first scan at the EPU. I had previously had an MMC so was convinced of the worst, but there we got to see a little heartbeat. I was put onto progesterone and the bleeding stopped and didn't come back. I'm now 31 weeks with a very wiggly baby girl 🩷 don't lose hope!

I did have some spotting with my first pregnancy, first scan was fine and heartbeat was seen, but I later had an MMC at 9+2. The spotting had stopped at around 8 weeks and likely had absolutely nothing to do with the loss. They said at the time it was likely just blood that had been slow to leave the body after implantation.

Best of luck with your pregnancy!

Bleeding at 6 weeks. Baby is sitting his GCSEs at the moment. I did go and have a private scan though to calm down. Would this be an option?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 19/05/2024 17:00

I bled at 8 weeks with both of ours. A few days of bright red blood but not as heavy as my periods.

They’re no happy and healthy 19 and 15 year olds.

wishing you well op

My threatened miscarriage is currently sat underneath the trampoline in the garden, 3 years later.

There can be positive outcomes.

I’m booked in for another one on the 30th from EPU but I’m also at the midwife on Wednesday so I may see if they can scan me. If not I’ll be booking a private one for peace of mind☺️

I had bleeding at 6 weeks (bright red) and then light pink spotting at about 8/9 weeks on and off due to a tiny hematoma but feared the worst. I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and touch wood nothing since 🤞🏻

DanishPatsy · 19/05/2024 21:12

I bled on and off from week 5 to week 12, culminating in a heavy red bleed just before my 12 week scan. It was so stressful and I dreaded going to the loo the whole first trimester. I had lots of scans and no cause was ever found.

It cleared up in the second trimester and was fine after that - my son is now 18 months and running rings round me!

Really hope all goes well for you I remember how nerve wracking it was.

Nottherealslimshady · 19/05/2024 21:19

I had two bouts of bleeding, one being pretty heavy, blood on my legs kind of situation. 25 weeks now, baby currently kicking the shit out of me.

My miscarriage was so much heavier than a regular period.

mum2three48 · 19/05/2024 22:41

I had heavy bleeding at around 8 weeks. I went to hospital and they examined me and told me I was having a mc and sent me hope with an appointment for a scan 2 weeks later. I bleed the full 2 weeks. When I went for my scan there was a heart beat and everything was fine with baby. I had a small tear in my uterus but it wasn't near baby. I was sent home on bed rest and the bleeding eventually stopped after a few days. Dd was born full term happy and healthy. She's 14 now. Good luck

Rainbowsandpetticoats14 · 22/05/2024 14:31

@Peonies12 my last mc I also started the same with brownish discharge then rapidly became bright red and clots. I did pass a noticeable foetus, TMI sorry! And I bled for 1.5/2 weeks, tested negative straight away. This time round I’ve just had the odd red blood after a transvaginal US and pelvic exam. Bleedings/spotting has stopped since Saturday. I still “feel” pregnant. Emotional, crying at the silliest of things!! Tender boobs, back ache. Only thing different is my discharge seems to of became less than before the spotting. I can not wait until my scan next week to confirm. Being in limbo really sucks x

Aw I’ve been in the same boat recently, it’s so hard but if it helps I am almost 20 weeks pregnant and had bleeding between weeks 8-11 (lots of brown spotting every day) and again at 16 weeks-bright red bleeding. First time was a haematoma and second lot of bleeding due to a low lying placenta, doctor has told me I might have more bleeding but should be nothing to worry about….hope this can make you feel a little bit better 💐🌺 it’s hard getting though the days of anxiety when waiting for the scan, but I found going for walks and watching something familiar and easy going helped….i watched a lot of friends when waiting for my scans. Fingers crossed for you xx

Rainbowsandpetticoats14 · 22/05/2024 16:56

@Bobbieiris thank you for this!! The bleedings stopped now, thankfully! It was total of 4/5 days. I still “feel” pregnant. So hopefully it’s a good sign! Can’t wait until I get this scan next week😩 days are dragging! Xx

I had bleeding with my second, he is now 12, and bleeding with my third they (twins) are 9 in 2 weeks and had small bleed with my last she is now 4 months, bleeding isn’t always bad, try not to worry (i know, easier said than done lol) xx

Bobbieiris · 23/05/2024 06:57

@Rainbowsandpetticoats14 I think bleeding in the first trimester is more common than we realise, my mum had bleeding in the first trimester too. Fingers crossed for you!! Xx

UPDATE TW‼️💔‼️

unfortunately I’ve had another mc. I should have been 7+4 yesterday and scan (both abdominal and transversal) showed nothing in my womb. First scan at 5+4 showed gestational sac and yolk sac.

Second one in 7 months☹️ this one was WIDLY different to my first one. I didn’t pass any noticeable clots, no cramps or really heavy bleeding. I was trying to be optimistic, but your gut just tells you somethings wrong. Plus side, they’ve now agreed to give me progesterone when I get pregnant again, and do bloods every 48 hours as my hcg both times have been low/slow rising. The nurse said yesterday she’s surprised they seen anything on my first scan as my hcg was low when they ran my bloods. But I did tell her it was high before as I got 3+ on clear blue 5 days before, so must of been fast at dropping. I also tested negative straight away with my first mc.

devastated💔💔.
