I don’t know what to do, I’m 8+3 weeks pregnant & I feel absolutely atrocious

Constant nausea, but only throwing up maybe 5 times a day. I’m able to keep small amounts of fluid down but anything food related just comes back up. Pressure headache constantly, disgusting sour taste in my mouth 24/7

GP has so far given me Cyclizine, Metoclopramide, Ondadenstron, nothing has worked

I feel like my body is shutting down, I am starving hungry but unable to eat. Hospital won’t do anything for me as i can keep some fluids down & assure me ‘baby is doing great’ - which im so pleased about but what about me? That sounds so horrifically selfish I know

I’m also unable to spend any meaningful time with my first DC as I’m so ill & it’s killing me

I honestly have tried every trick in the book but if anybody has any out there tips on how to get through this, please help me. Please

I am so low, I’m not sure I can continue

I second the suggestion to call Pregnancy Sickness Support. The one thing I added to your meds list was Omeprazole (following advice from PSS). It did a great job at keeping the acid down, which was causing a lot of the sickness for me. Also sounds like you may need a trip to hospital at this point to get extra liquids and meds in? You have my sympathy. It's the worst but I promise it does get better.

Huge hugs OP. It's rotten and you're a true superhero. I'm so sorry you're struggling, I just want to take it away for you because I know how terrible it is. I remember sobbing in the car 9 months ago, occasionally wailing whilst gagging in despair.

I was in your exact boat 9 months ago with HG for a second time. I totally hear you where the guilt is concerned for DC1 but trust me - they will be fine and it's a tiny weeny portion of their lives with you 💓my son is so over it and doesn't ever bring it up so it can't have been that scaring (despite me feeling like the worst mum on planet earth just lying in bed avoiding him at the time!).

I've now got a 3 week old baby girl and the struggle was SO worth it... YOU CAN DO THIS! I recommend tuning into "mind over matter" stuff whenever you've got a tiny bit of strength. Ekart Tolle on YouTube is a lovely chap to guide you through challenging emotions, and I also recommend putting on some power ballads when you're on a slump.

It WILL ease and DC1 WILL be and is fine. I PROMISE!!!

P.S ice lemon water was ever so slightly helpful. My partner actually bought an ice machine due to the ice I got through so perhaps get one if you don't have one already? We still use it loads!!

Omg I remember this with my first girl absolutely terrible. I wanted to be put down !!!! I just nibbled on dry crackers and sipped tea. It went after 3 months. Really hope it goes soon 💐

I've bought ginger lozenges by sea band from Amazon. I tried one a few weeks ago when I thought I was nauseous(haha how naïve I was!) and thought they were disgusting! But now I'm so grateful for the revolting distraction!

Go back to GP. Ask re xonvea.

@Theright1 thank you so much for this.
I went to the GP & asked about Xonvea, got it prescribed 2 days ago & it has changed my life. I CAN EAT!!! I’ve not thrown up once since taking it, I still feel quite nauseous but I’m keeping everything down. I cannot believe it, thank you!
