morning sickness without vomiting

Hey girls

I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and my nausea kicked in around 6 weeks last week.

Although I'm ready to be sick and head down the toilet I can't seem to bring it up heaving the lot😂🤦‍♀️ the way I'm shaking and eyes water is like I just have lol!

Just seeing if anyone else has had this? X

I had this in pregnancy. Made me feel like a bit of a fraud, weirdly 😛 like I wasn't "morning sick" enough. I would suggest all the stuff you'll probably hear again and again, I ate a lot of dry plain crackers and drank a tonne of water and that really helped.

But yes, the weird nausea that comes so close to actual ms is very annoying!

Yes.
Last pregnancy felt like I had car sickness until 10 weeks. This pregnancy, not as bad but the gagging starts when brushing my teeth or if I smell the dogs food, farts, poo or any other offensive smell 🤣

Honestly girls it's the worst feeling lol it's like sickness stays in the bottom of my belly all day 😩 brushing my teeth and the littlest of smells starts me off also! Xx

Yep, that was me. I was only ever sick twice but spent most days for the first trimester just feeling like I was about to. I remember worrying I'd have to stop on the motorway to be sick and contemplating being travel sick bags but it only ever stayed as nausea. I ate a lot of mints which seemed to help.

Yes, it's very common to have nausea but not actually vomit. I walked round with Jacobs crackers to hand at all times, as nibbling these slowly was the only thing that relieved the nausea at all.

Omg yes. I had this with my last pregnancy.

Its weird because i could be sat on the other sofa and my partner would fart, thats it im dry heaving!!! I didnt even have to smell it🤣

I remember taking the dogs out, one of them had done a poo, and as my partner was picking it up i got wiff of it, i was dry heaving the whole way home🤣🤣

I was the exact same just cooking raw meat, mainly mince, i genuinly had to step away and put a peg on my nose because i couldnt deal with it, my partner just stood laughing at me in the kitchen with a peg on my nose cooking mince🫠😂

Yes! Like constant horrible travel sickness. I suppose it's nice not to be vomiting but I find it very very wearing to be so nauseous 24/7. Mine generally lasts to about 16 weeks but I'm sure that's different for everyone, some people will shift it sooner and others much later.

Yes, I think it’s actually more common to have nausea than vomiting! I’m sure I saw a stat somewhere that said around 80% of pregnant women experience nausea and less than 50% of them will actually vomit.

(As an emetophobe, I was desperately researching this sort of thing in my first trimester!).

I didn’t actually vomit in my first trimester, but there were days of horrible nausea. Some worse than others. But mainly it was like a constant sicky-feeling in my chest.

At 11 weeks this progressed to dry heaving and one episode of bringing some strawberries back up but not everything else I had just eaten. The dry heaving seemed to be triggered by smells mainly. DH felt very guilty when he didn’t empty the bin like I asked and it triggered me! Each episode was about 4-7 full body heaves. Really unpleasant!

I had nausea all day long. I would lie in bed at night feeling sick and wake up the same. I’d gag constantly too. In my first pregnancy I don't think I actually vomited once but in the second I did quite a few times. The constant nausea was horrible. It lasted until about 16-18 weeks I think. I feel such sympathy for women with HG because I felt awful and I don’t think it was a patch on what they must suffer.

I've had HG in all my pregnancies but I can still sympathise because honestly the constant, severe nausea is worse than the vomiting. It's always been like severe travel sickness for me, at its worst if I even moved to go to the toilet (not that I had to do that much due to dehydration), the motion of walking for 30 seconds would make me vomit. Horrendous.

Poor you OP! I had this - all day long until about week 14 when it eased.

As other posters have said, eating little and often & never allowing myself to get hungry helped. I craved starchy, salty foods such as crisps and bizarrely tuna sandwiches.

I was ready to punch anyone who suggested for the millionth time that I should try ginger biscuits! 😂

Yes, I had this with my daughter. I felt nauseous all the time, but I wasn't sick. I think it was worst than vomiting, I just never had a relief.
It went away around 12-13 weeks.
I'm pregnant now with a little baby boy, and I didn't have nausea.
