Hi

Does anyone have experience? My daughter was delivered at 34 weeks due to growth restriction and after a few tests APS was found to be the case have a letter from my consultant saying for future pregnancies to start aspirin at 12 weeks and blood thinners from when a viable pregnancy is confirmed that means to me after first scan?

Seen alot online saying they started blood thinners as soon as they found out as surely you would want to reduce the risk of an early loss as it's linked with recurrent miscarriages?

Couldn't get through to midwives yesterday and it's all register online after your 6 weeks my GP is trying to help but hospital need to prescribe the blood thinners x

I had APS discovered after miscarriages & while pregnant with my second child. I started bleeding at 5 weeks and was put on aspirin straight away. Had I not I’d have lost them also.

It’s also for me been a discovery of other autoimmune diseases and I’d recommend being referred to a rheumatologist if you can be.

good luck.

Thank you yes I was surprised when I re read the letter stating asprin from 12 weeks I thought I would have needed it earlier will try get some answers today hopefully been trying to call th sneakily at work so been hard! Off tomorrow so will just wait till I can speak to anyone there must be a reason why they suggest that but you just feel better if treatment started sooner I have never had an early loss so maybe why so glad you got treated straight away and everything turned out ok ❤️

Thank you
they are now 21 and sitting their finals.

I had early bleeding with my first and placenta praevia and was on aspirin as a precaution as was on bedrest for most of pregnancy. I think that’s why I kept them also.

Good luck 💐💐

Thank you I will definitely raise it with them I mean I could just start taking the asprin but want to clarify first if reason they have said form 12 weeks

Most stressful part knowing who to speak to as seems midwives don't want to speak to you till 6 weeks but don't want to contact the consultant direct at least gp is trying to help said if I can't get through he will send an urgent message to them x
