Any tips for healing with stitches?

I'm 3 days post birth. My stitches still feel sore and when I wee it stings like a mother! I wash as I wee to help with stinging but honestly sometimes I feel like the water adds to the stinging too! Should I be using warm water instead of cold? Just looking for reassurance that this is all normal and they're not getting infected...

Warm water and then dry every time with a hairdryer on the cool setting. Makes a huge difference

I was having salt baths 2/3 times a day and I found that helped a lot. Hope your ok. I found the stitches through worst part. Keep up with your paracetamol as well if your sore it does help.

Make sure your drinking enough water so you don't become constipated x

Ohhh I remember the stitches well! Warm baths with lavender and tea tree oil. Cool packs (I put a clean maternity pad in the fridge for a while and then used that).
I see you are already using a jug of water to help when going to the toilet, warm water is best I think and then dry with hairdryer on cool.

Peri bottle with warm water and a drop of witch hazel.

Or peri bottle and frida mom perineal witch Hazel foam on your fresh maternity pad whenever you change it. It helps to cool and ease the itching and speeds up healing. That and those frida mom ice pads were a game changer for pp healing

When you wee, bend forwards and put your hands on the floor so your bum is tilted more upwards. It's not dignified but keeps the wee off your stitches.

Yes warm water as you pee will help. I just very very gently pat dried with loo roll and had huge absorbent maternity pads on anyway. Are you keeping up with regular pain medication too? That will be the main thing really.

Tea tree oil and lavender oil both as pure as possible in the bath ,no other products ,really helped my stitches with 1st baby , with my 2nd no stitches but a few little 'grazes' i had the oils ready and everything healed very quickly.

Arnica tablets - plus a few little shallow baths to sit your bits in each day with a couple of drops of lavender oil and tea tree oil in the water. Midwife recommended this to me after my first, did the same with my second, both bad tears with tons of stitches and both healed really well x

Peri bottle with warm water helped me so much! Hopefully it can help you too, I know it's hurting right now and it's awful, but I promise one day this will be a distant memory. If you can get anymore pain relief ask your GP you've been through enough you don't need to suffer any further ,,
