Why is deciding on a 3rd so difficult?

I would love a third but as a long term thinker, I worry about the impact it will have on my other two, they are currently 8 and 4. At the moment my family of 4 we are able to do everything together. I work full time as does other half and I am able to manage everything quite well right now, some days are hectic and the mental to do list can be overwhelming but other days can be so lovely (I enjoy motherhood and having a career). How did you manage to fit a third in? From posts I have seen, with a third it seems like mothers/parents spend less time together and more individually to accommodate for the separate needs, is this the honest truth of it?

Also keen to see responses. Desperate for a 3rd but it’s such a big thing to decide compared to 1 and 2.. at least it seems it.

I’ve taken the plunge, after years of going back and forth (DC’s are 10 and 6)
thinking about whether to do it or not used to keep me awake at night, didn’t feel done but also didn’t want to make life hard all over again when it had become so much more manageable
I cried so much when I fell pg straight away, but after a couple of weeks I genuinely haven’t given it any more thought.
it’s happening, it will be hard, but I am excited and it all feels very natural and right. now I’m wishing I’d not left such a huge gap!

Will you be changing anything at home to accommodate your third? Ie working ours, not support from family etc? Hope you don't mind me asking...

I actually didn’t go back to work after having DC2 - having both in childcare would have cost more than my wage so we are already adapted financially to me not bringing any income in.
I don’t have any family support, but haven’t with my other 2 so that doesn’t change anything either.
2 older children are both at school so I am actually looking forward to having 1-2-1 time with the baby for a big chunk of the day x
