What are everyone's thoughts on gym/ wright training during pregnancy? I stopped weights as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Only 4 weeks ish but genuinely interested to see did anyone stop/ continue weights?

NHS advice is you can do what you were already doing. There is no causal link between exercise and miscarriage.

I continued with body pump till the day after my due date. Took instructors advice and modified some routines.

Stopped doing Les Mills Core at six weeks because the instructor was worried about me feeling faint due to increased core temp. Had weeks 8-11 basically off the gym due to morning sickness. Went back to a mix of pilates and Body Balance. I managed those til 34 weeks but stopped when I couldn't stop my core from coning any longer.

Cycled every day until 20 weeks, then three days a week til I was ~27 weeks (legs wouldn't fit under bump any more!). In the gym, I've had to drop weight machine kgs down to basically nothing since week 20.

I'm 35 weeks now. Been doing aqua aerobics weekly since 24 weeks and stretching class all the way through. Both of these are to try and help pelvic pain that showed up about week 30, and also make up for not doing as much walking as I would like. Have to make sure I don't get too hot, tired or dehydrated - but I think that's pretty normal at this stage.

I've managed to keep up with some activities longer than I thought, but I have also been a bit sad about each class/activity I've had to pause or each limitation I've had to accept. I would echo what the others have said: be kind to yourself; be prepared to reduce the intensity; tell your midwife what you're doing; and find instructors/PTs who are happy to give you adjustments as your bump grows!
