Overdue and can’t stop crying

I’m 40+8 with my second baby and cannot stop crying today. I went over by 10 days with my first so should have expected it but feel like it’s a million times harder this time for some reason.

My midwife had told me that hospital policy had changed and they would induce from 7 days overdue now so I eagerly asked to be put on the list. Phoned the delivery suite today and they said they are so busy and to plan something nice for the weekend as I’m unlikely to hear from them until Monday.

Plan something nice? I can barely move with the hip pain, my feet are so swollen I cannot put my shoes on any more and I’m so fucking miserable 😩 feel like the worst mum to my toddler right now and just want to be able to move!!

I don’t even know what the point of this post is apart from to have a massive moan about how miserable being overdue is.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh OP , I sympathise with you because I was in this exact position with my 2nd. I was ridiculously swollen and would cry from my Carpel tunnel. I was also overdue but I think that the 3rd cervical sweep put me into labour and I had my baby 40+3 days later.

Ah brilliant well done OP!

Was just coming on to say that in my case the UTTER misery at 40+8 was a prelude to it all happening at last!

TeaPleaseX · 21/04/2024 12:26

Congratulations. I came here to say that I'm wondering if a big cry is a sign some thing is happening!
Happened to me in one pregnancy. Got myself in such a state crying in frustration she wouldn't come out. I was inconsolable and she was born that night. Prior to the meltdown, I hadn't had one pain!. Congrats x

HelpMeUnpickThis · 21/04/2024 12:28

I went 40 + 12 with my first. Just here to say that i feel your pain. I wasnt tearful - just entirely fed up. So swollen as well.

It will be worth it. The end is nigh. Hang in there.

HelpMeUnpickThis · 21/04/2024 12:29

Ah missed the update - congratulations @Fridgetapas
