Can anyone recommend pregnancy-safe sunscreens?

We are going to have our first child. I'd appreciate some recommendations and counsel from all of you.

We are essentially searching for a sunscreen that is safe to use during pregnancy. However, certain ingredients in sunscreen may cause issues during pregnancy.

Asking for ideas for pregnancy-friendly sunscreens can help us make well-informed judgments from those who may have previously done some research and found safe options.

According to our research we got some good information through this resource page on Pregnancy-Safe Sunscreens, but your experience and recommendation will be incredibly helpful!

Any skin product you can buy over the counter (i.e. not on prescription) is fine. There is no way any amount of skin product can get through your skin and then through the placenta.

I’ve just been away and used Nivea factor 30 without a second thought. There are no warnings on it for pregnancy and unless something is not recommended by the NHS it’s fine. You do need a high factor though as your skin is more prone to burn

Any normal sun cream is fine.

I've never considered dangers of suncream in pregnancy 😳 never heard of it being a risk factor before

I just used my usual suncream factor 50 in the early stage of pregnancy while abroad. Then had a spring baby so didn’t need it in the uk.

Typically, mineral sunscreens are free from the really yucky stuff in the more mainstream/traditional sunscreens. They also have historically been horrible to wear because they're white and impossible to rub in. However, I noticed last year that there are now a good number of "sheer mineral" sunscreens available, and these are amazing! However, i live in California so we have a really wide range of sunscreens easily available to us. Not sure if that is the same in the UK. But you can probably get hold of them online even if they're harder to find in shops.
