I'm almost 10 weeks and I've lost so much weight. I haven't been able to eat a proper meal since 4 weeks. I can't eat anything. The sickness is horrible I've lost so much weight that I worked really hard to gain as being skinny has always been my biggest insecurity. Now I'm ridiculously skinny again. I just want to not feel sick anymore 😭 and have a normal appetite just feel so crap

Just keep going, it should get better at 12 weeks.
Have you tried sipping ice cold coke? And I mean a sip, not a mouthful.

Rosesanddaisies1 · 12/04/2024 07:41

Do speak to your midwife about the weight loss, they might have some suggestions. But also, my appetite came back at 12 weeks after being same as you. So hopefully it is short lived

elialxox · 12/04/2024 09:29

@Rosesanddaisies1 I don't have a midwife yet my doctors refused to take me back, but I am going to try and self refer myself. I've been going private, I pay for private scans I've had three so far. I was thinking about buying some ensure plus drinks but I don't think I could even stomach them Confused

I'm not sure what you mean by refuse, but in my area you have to self refer to NHS maternity services and then you get a midwife appointment, usually around 8 weeks. I'd do that soon to make sure you get your NHS scan at 12/13 weeks, that's really important.

elialxox · 12/04/2024 10:11

@Rosesanddaisies1 sorry I should have given more context, I got removed from the list about a year ago for missing appointments I've called back to re register recently and they refused,I will just self refer

Midwife services is all done separately to your GP surgery so shouldn't be an issue.

elialxox · 12/04/2024 10:38

@Rosesanddaisies1 not where I live, with my first pregnancy I saw my midwife at my doctors, every time I had an appointment to see the midwife it would be at the doctors. the only time I ever went to the hospital was for scans and to have my cesarean

Oh it's so hard! I was in the same boat in those early weeks - literally the only reliable food I could tolerate was pears and babybel for quite some time. I also lost weight in the first trimester but it does balance out. Are you able to get a prescription (or maybe buy online if you can't reach a GP) some cyclizine hydrochloride? I found it really helpful in the first trimester managing nausea. Meal times were still hard but it did make things easier in terms of feeling less generally crappy.

elialxox · 12/04/2024 11:45

@Mauhea I already have cyclizine from my last pregnancy but I stopped taking it all it does is make me so tired that I can't function and knock out :( didn't help with the sickness I've tried other types of anti sickness and none work. They may stop me being sick but that horrible sick feeling is there 24/7. It really is hard im really at my wits end now I even was thinking I don't want to be pregnant anymore my heads all over at the minute don't know what to do this is horrible :(

@Rosesanddaisies1 I see my midwife at my doctor's surgery but she isn't employed by the surgery, she's employed by the NHS trust. They just use the doctor's building to meet people. So even if you saw your midwife at your doctor's office they may well still be separate services. When I was at the first midwife appt she asked me who my GP was and which surgery etc - they aren't connected. I think they see people from other surgeries in my local area all at the same place because it's a relatively large practice. May well be the same where you are

malimoon · 12/04/2024 14:58

oops sorry @-ed the wrong person I think!

bradpittsbathwater · 12/04/2024 15:00

It's really important you get registered and have your 12 week scan. You should be having a blood test which will help detect any anomies in the next week or so ahead of a scan.

inquisitiveinga · 12/04/2024 16:55

Aw OP - yes it's incredibly horrible and I completely understand. Get back to the GP and explain how you're feeling, perhaps they'll prescribe you ondansetron. Also mention that you're naturally slim, how much weight you've lost and what you currently weigh - hopefully it raises some eyebrows that get urgent attention.

I'm at the end of my second hyperemesis gravidarum pregnancy, I have my section booked for a week today... I never thought I'd get here at 11 weeks!! It's been anything but easy but from experience I can promise you it's worth it. ✨️
