You don't need to worry about this.

  1. the lambs might not have had (whatever the bug is) anyway
  2. they didn't go near the lambs
  3. their shoes were cleaned by walking on the grass anyway
  4. even if you were exposed to (whatever) your immune system can fight it
  5. even if your immune system didn't fight it it's not necessarily definitely harmful to the baby

But mainly 1&2

I'm worried about absolutely everything, but you're perfectly safe with this one, don't worry.

I know I didnt directly touch them but they came into my home after with he shoes and clothes at a place where lambs have been recently born/ touching goats/ pregnant goats

Love, you will be absolutely fine. Any risk of second hand transmission is absolutely tiny because the risk of direct transmission is tiny to start with!

LizardOfOz · 04/04/2024 21:55

You could have licked the lambs yourself and still be fine!!

If their shoes were somehow infected with something to the extent that they managed to scrub it into your carpet, you’d have to do an awful lot of licking your carpet to make contact with it. You will be fine OP!

It is easy to find yourself worrying about everything when you are pregnant.

I live rurally and am surrounded by farms, where female farmers are often pregnant - they and their partners are around animals all the time. I hope that this will put it in proportion for you and help you to stop worrying.

Unless the lambs came to your house wearing clothes and shoes you are fine..

My DH lambs on the family farm; it was deemed that the cat poop was a greater risk of toxoplasmosis transmission than my DH, so I think your risk is very low.
