Missed miscarriage on progesterone? Negative tests after positive.

so for a bit of background previously I’ve had 5 miscarriages and luckily 2 children, both children were conceived when I was on 400mg cyclogest.

I found out I was pregnant around 10 days ago and had faint but very clear positives on all my tests since I had sickness/sore boobs/ bloating the usual.
I noticed this weekend my symptoms completely dropped off gone so I tested - I would have been 6+3 and it was very very faint but digital test was positive still.
left it a few days and tested again and its fainter again borderline negative and this time the digital was negative also.

I’ve had no bleeding or anything (I’ve always bled first with my other miscarriages) I expressed all this to the gp and they were very unhappy because the Epu is refusing to see me and basically saying wait for the 12 week scan. They wont even do bloods to check my hcg which is clearly non existent.

now this obviously sent me in a tizz because I’m now negative and if I don’t bleed they want me to just carry on as if I am without confirmation going ahead with midwife appts ect just to wait another 6 weeks for them to tell me I’ve miscarried 6 weeks earlier?

has anyone been through this and were still actually pregnant?

Can it be the progesterone stopping me bleeding??

This is really surprising given retained tissue can be dangerous. Could you consider speaking to PALS or asking to speak with someone senior in EPAU? I’m sorry you’re going through this ☹️💔

It sounds like a 'chemical' pregnancy, basically the embryo fails to completely implant or fails to thrive shortly after implantation. It's really common and alot of women never realise that they have had one as it happens so early, instead thinking their period is a few days late or particularly heavy. The progesterone is highly likely to stop you from bleeding (it's one of its jobs). In IVF conceptions progesterone is only stopped after a positive test/rising HcG and for most women it is the stopping of the progesterone that triggers the bleed. Why can't your GP order a HcG test? Or failing that can you get one privately? I think most fertility clinics can organise one easily. I suppose the alternative is to stop the progesterone but I know emotionally it's not that straightforward with the 'what ifs'. Good luck
