Graduation at 35 weeks?

So... My university graduation date is the end of july and I'm due Sept 1st. I'm worried because I'd have to take a 4hr drive to the graduation venue. Is a 4 hour drive away from my designated hospital a good idea when you're 35 weeks?

Sorry if this is a silly question, Its my first and I don't have many women who have had kids to consult about it haha. I can alternatively push back graduation till November, but it does mean I would miss out on graduating with my friends and I'd have to make the same 4hr journey with a 2 month old. Help?

I don't have any experience as pregnant with first but I'd say to do it pregnant, as long as you don't have complications or are high risk that could result in early labour?

We will be making a 3 hour trip to a family event when I'll be 34 weeks pregnant. The original plan was to go with the in laws in their car but we have decided to now go in our own car should we suddenly need to dash off. I think I might even take hospital bags with us which seems extreme but surely better to be over prepared than under prepared 😅

Are you staying overnight or coming home same day? Either way, if your pregnancy is uneventful in the lead up, the chances of something happening in that time are pretty small I reckon!

I would try to get the graduation done at 35 weeks rather than post-baby if I were you. You'll need wee stops on the journey but should be otherwise fine unless you have any risk factors for early birth?

I would go to the graduation. But I'd also know where the nearest hospital is just on the slim chance that you need it. And have a hospital bag in the car just in case.

You'll be fine. Take a hospital bag with you and your notes just in case but for the vast majority of people if anything did start you'd have plenty of time to get home anyway. We went to a wedding 2 hours away when I was 4 days overdue 😬😂

Unless there are major complications you've needed a plan for, it's no problem at all to give birth at a different hospital if necessary. I wouldn't worry about that. Go and enjoy your graduation if all is going well.
