Hi ladies, I’m 4w4d, nhs wanted me to have a scan at 4+1 due to previous mc and couldn’t see a sac. Going back for HCG tests tomorrow. Relative strength bfp on Tesco (not early test)… does this look ok? Not changed much since yesterday.

lots of cramping, fatigue and nausea but also had this with all of my previous pregnancies.

ty so nervous after 3 miscarriages.

Very surprised they wanted to do a scan at 4w? It would be very unlikely to see anything and even if they can it doesn’t make any difference as to whether you will miscarry.
I think you just need to wait I am afraid- stop testing and just give it a couple of weeks. Unless they are planning on starting medication then there is literally nothing you can do

Once they know the pregnancy is viable they will provide me with prog pessaries so I think they were hoping they could see something so they could give it to me.. like you say though it’s just caused me more anxiety. Hopefully my HCGs are where they need to be tomorrow.

Hi @Workinmum2020 if I were you I’d speak to your GP again. My understanding is that they scan at this early stage to check the pregnancy is in the right location before prescribing progesterone (as they don’t want to prescribe for an ectopic) but it’s too early to see much at this very early stage, so that shouldn’t prevent prescribing. Eg the guidance here backs that up: https://www.royalfree.nhs.uk/patients-and-visitors/patient-information-leaflets/progesterone-treatment-early-pregnancy#:~:text=Progesterone%20(drug%20name%20Cyclogest%20or,until%2016%20weeks%20of%20pregnancy.

I’m also surprised they suggested scanning so early. The nhs have previously said to me that they wouldn’t scan any earlier than 6 weeks as it’s very unlikely to see anything before that.

In regards to your test, please don’t worry about the darkness of the line. My tests were incredibly faint, so much so that after a few hours they just looked like evap lines. My midwife reminded me that a positive test is a positive test, no matter how faint or dark they look. My pregnancy worked out alright and I now have a 2 week old snoring next to me. I’d gently suggest you stop testing now. I know it feels reassuring to test daily but it just causes you to feel stressed to see if it’s progressing.

Thank you all for your messages. I was equally as surprised as were the ladies at EPU. So hard to relax after 3 MC. My HCG had double to 465 @ 4+5 so I guess that’s good news. I’m back in Saturday for another scan as I’ll be nearer to 6 weeks then.

finger crossed. Getting lots of cramps which I find in nerving but also very tired.

Hi OP!
I hope all is well 😊
can I just ask what you thought of these Tesco tests? I’ve been using them all week getting positives but they are very inconsistent and showing dark then faint lines and some seem to be patchy?
