Hi,

FTM. Can someone please tell me how many clothes I will need for each age? I'm not sure if I want proper outfits of just sleep suits but let's just pretend I'm going to have only sleep suits for the first few months. How many do I need for newborn? 0-3? 3-6?

I don't want to overspend.

We only use sleepsuits for ease and they just look comfy and cute !
I would go for 10 in each size if you do the washing and drying pretty much everyday , if not I would go for 15 .
I have a very sicky baby and on a bad day would have 8 changes of clothes

Definitely for the first 3 months, if not 6, go for sleepsuits because you will absolutely not want to change baby's clothes more than necessary (they hate it at first)

There is also size Newborn (before 0-3m), which depending on the size of your baby you may not need. My first was almost 9 lbs and never fitted the newborn clothes.

If you have a sicky/droolly baby or leaking nappy then you can go through clothes very quickly. I'd say at least 16 sleepsuits - this can last you two to seven or more days, depending on how things go.

Don't forget you will probably receive a lot of baby clothes as gifts. I would probably suggest buying some, seeing what your baby is like, then ordering more as necessary. 3am feeds are a good fime for online shopping 😬

I’d say make sure you have at least 2 sleepsuits for each day between washes. Really don’t bother with outfits for the first months. They wear them for an hour then poop or throw up on them and a nice sleepsuit is soooo much easier.
Feom 3-6 months some outfits are nice, but make sure you have at least a sleepsuit as backup each day and also for night time.
We found that we implemented a bedtime routine from 6 weeks which involved a fresh very and sleepsuit, so again you might want to make sure you have enough for each evening from about 3 months onwards.
It was only when my son got to about 9 months that we managed to get through the days without an outfit change so his wardrobe has shrunk a lot and there’s a bit less washing thankfully!

At least ten sleepsuits of each size and the same number of vests is what we had for our son. We didn't start putting him in outfits until he was around three months old.

I've been very lax in getting outfits ready for this baby! They barely have any clothes at all 😂

Just get a few newborn and 0-3 months for now as you don’t know baby’s size. Then buy once they’re here. Bundles on Vinted are good. And you’ll probably get clothes as gifts too.

Buy a minimum and shop then you need. Shops (also online) are open after you have your baby.

No one can answer what you need. It depends on the child and how often you do laundry.

And buy second hand baby clothes is so much more affordable. Often unused or very close to new. They grow so fast!
