hiya! some may already know,

i just want to share my story as it’s going along to raise awareness in case this should happen to someone else.

i found out i was pregnancy early on. i had a heavy gush and 1 day of bleeding. went to hospital they said i 100% miscarried. however i booked a private scan for two days later as i just wanted to see so i could heal. however the scan did not go as i thought it would.

first they found a possible sac with blood clots. then a hematoma. they also said miscarriage at this point. they continued to scan. next they found a pregnancy in my pelvis with a healthy heartbeat. so this is an eptopic pregnancy not in my tube or ovary, just in my pelvis near what they call pod (pouch of douglas) which was full of fluid/blood. they were very concerned as this was not looking very good or normal for eptopic.

they continued to scan and they have then found behind the hematoma a healthy heart beat from a second baby but this one is in the right place (uterus)

i have been told what i have is called a hetroeptopic pregnancy and is very very rare. but i also have a bleed in the pod which is separate to the hematoma and they do not yet know why.

currently being in hospital they do not seem to know the best course of action as of yet. tomorrow thursday 3pm i am expected to stay in hospital until they decide what to do

if anyone has been through this, could they share some of their info? they’ve told me healthy baby should be safe and fine throughout as seems to be out of the way from the bad things! i am 6 weeks

I'm so sorry you're going through this, well done for trusting your instincts and going for the scan so they could find it early and make a plan.

I have heard of something similar, although it may be related rather than the same thing, I'm certainly no expert! There's an American OB on Instagram who shared a really unusual case that was an ectopic pregnancy outside of the womb, the baby did survive but I think there was a huge amount of risk involved to both mum and baby so it was a difficult choice for the parents. Baby was born very early too. I can't find the exact reel she shared, but her profile is called babiesafter35. I wonder if you contacted her directly she may be able to share some more information or help you find an expert in the UK.

Best of luck at this hard time 💕

Hi, I had a heterotopic (womb and tube) but lost both between 6-8 weeks.

Sending best wishes for your remaining baby!

Hi,

I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and had an heterotopic removed surgically at 7 weeks from my left tube. Unfortunately I did lose the tube but I was given Cyclogest pessaries for 2 weeks after the surgery and so far there have been no long term effects with the baby due at end of May.

I did have a scan to check on the remaining baby the morning after surgery and again a week later.

Have plenty of rest and good luck!
